Threshold coverstock question

I see that this is a next generation coverstock.  Have we seen the end of the Soaker coverstock - or is this not the new High end ball?

The end of Soaker....I HIGHLY doubt that, it's too good to stop using.

I have not heard anything about the Soaker being discontinued, the Threshold is a new core, new cover in the MAX line up. It has no equal at this point in time ( until Phil and the R & D ppl make a companion ball for it.) I just drilled my staff ball and threw it last night for the first time, it is without question the biggest hooking ball Phil has produced, as Jim E. stated in another post the ball is "hook stupid", I've never seen a ball hook as much as mine did last night, if the lanes were wider the ball would have come back to me, I'm thinking it should have been named the "boomerang".

It looks like, from the picture on this site, that the cover doesn't go all the way to the core like most of the Soaker balls do.  The Things, the Energies, and the Elements all had covers that went all the way to the core while the CM and Threshold have a filler material between the cover and core.

Which particle balls have you had that die quickly?  Earlier particles (especially softer particles like TEC) had shorter lives, but modern particles are usually very long lasting.

How strong is the cover compared to some of the stronger covers on the market now, like the entire line of "One"'s? Which of the three would it be closer to?

from what I saw last night the One Line does not and will not hold a candle to the Threshold. My Mag .44 out hooked the One on the same condition and the Threshold will run circles around the MAg. I 'm going to make an educated assumption about the coverstock not being as think on the Thres. it lies within the density of the core, since the weight of the ball is in the core not the coverstock, with the core being denser a filler is needed to keep the ball within the weight ramifications, therefore less coverstock is needed to make up the weight, the core being assymetric would be the difference, the MB is within the core density and not coming from a thicker cover at the MB position in the ball.

A little help here Phil.

As for the cover strength, it is IMO stronger than Soaker, I'd say the stronger of all teh D/T covers, based off my experience with D/T covers, I kept looking for spikes on the ball, I've never had to stand 4 boards into the gutter and play the 4th arrow before with any ball until last night. Way stronger than I anticipated, now I have to adjust the cover to be able to use it more than one game a night.

Only reason I ask is I have a CM and while I like the ball, but if there's to much oil I have problems. I'm looking for a heavy oil ball and while I like all the DT equipment I have, I've seen the Infinite One in action and I'm debating between that and the Threshold.

I spent the last 5 frames third game standing in the left gutter, and still found it very difficult to keep it in the 1-2 pocket, the ball never rolled out. What more can I say, if you are looking for a heavy weight look no further.

4" pin to PAP, MB 4 1/2" to PAP, Pin up 2 3/4" from midline. Taking mine to 1200 today will try it out tomorrow morning when the lanes open.

Ok, I really am wokring on it this time.  I have been real unavailable lately as I've been preparing for a certification exam.
