THRESHOLD PART DEUX
« on: July 29, 2006, 09:31:14 AM »
3" pin, 4" pin to PAP, MB 4 1/2" to PAP, pin up 2 3/4" from midline. For those not use to seeing these type of measurments it would resemble a 4 x 4 stacked for a bowler with a PAP of 5 1/4 over and 1/2" vertical.

Thursday night this "boomer" was entirely too much ball for the shot, as well as the bowler using it, I was way out of my comfort zone. Today I took it up to 1200 beginning with a 1000 abralon pad, then finishing it up with a new white 3M scotch brite pad. Took her back to the lanes and found she was more managable, could still swing it as much as I wanted, still no roll out, but atleast I was able to keep it within the walls of the house. I'm going to try it again tomorrow morning when there is less distraction ( birthday party, one lane away) and can find a new comfort zone.

So if you were to rate it right now without seeing its best side, what would it be bro?

today showed me the cover is as versitile as any other D/T cover including Soaker, easily adjusted, handles oil extremely well, at box surface if you do not see a heavy pattern or a long one you'd be best to take it up to at least 1200 and maybe higher depending on the amount of hand you have. It is definitly the ball of the future for D/T this will give us the ball to turn everyone's head in our direction. Not only is it exceptional in oil but the looks are astounding, as I said before I think it should be renamed the "Boomer".

Any way you could take a pic so we can see the actual color mixture?

My Threshold looks nothing like the pic... which is good because I did not want to confuse it with my Paradigm when I rush home to juggle balls for leagues after work.

Definitely can see the Columbia swirl pattern on mine.

I can't wait to get mine back from my driller.

yeah Dave, you were really hoping they looked quite similar, that way your wife would not realize you had another new ball. Rolls his eyes, and walks off. LOL

I definitely won't confuse mine with my paradigm.  The pattern on this ball has Columbia all over it.  Having brand new Brunswick Pro-Avilane's installed at the center this week so won't get to try it out for a couple weeks.  Almost makes me want to stay home from vacation.

As far as looks go, it is ok.  I like the 44 mag much better.  All the colors on mine are cloudy/milky and not crisp/vibrant like usual, another typical Columbia trait.  You can definitely see Columbia300's influence in this release.

Here we go...
Setup for two Thresholds

#1
Ring above pin basic 5 x 3 with X/H 5.75 on CL

This had a smooth big boy reaction. On the cheetah is was a challenge to play out of the bos. On the typical house it managed to control the lanes with explosive mis lane roll but could'n not handle the transition as expected. Needs some oil.

Threshold #2

This was your typical 5 x 5.5 with ring above pin. I took this ball down with cabby 40 mic and then polished with Columbia 1200 degree. I went back out on the lanes and OH YEAH...this controlled the cheatah as long as you stayed right. It was a barn burner of the corner. Moved to the house and had the  same affect.

The combination of the two will allow for a better transition with the V-Black and MAG........Look out..

Definitely everything that was published in BTM.

Billy...thanks for making me wait man....But I still love you......

Now if I could just get it in PINK!
