Title: Threshold Question
Post by: bigearv14 on December 02, 2006, 04:34:27 PM
Pin under ring, MB on VAL, X-Hole above MB
19 MPH, high rev rate, 30 axis tilt
1000 grit

Ok, this ball should hook a bunch. I've heard many say it hooks too much, but I am having the opposite problem. I was throwing a bunch of weaker ball and swinging the lane and i had to play near down and in with this.

I love the reaction shape i get with this grit, but was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I think any lower grit would cause it to burn out, but i may polish it to get some downlane movement...

Is there a better option?

if you are throwing weaker stuff and they are out hooking the Threshold, my first inclination would be there is not enough oil present for the Threshold.
As many have previously stated surface adjustment is needed, or moving deeper in the oil should help.

I agree with tekneek.

But I'd add, why, with your axis tilt, did you put the MB on the VAL. That will reduce the backend and hook quite a bit, in general. I'd think you should use a lot more tilt to get decent backend with that drill.
