Ok, I used the Sniper this weekend in a tourney, and had much better success with it there. It could just be my routine struggles with the THS. I just flat out bowl better in tournament conditions, no matter if it's a heavy pattern, flat pattern, short pattern, or totally toasted. For whatever reason, I normally bowl much better than in my league with the typical house block. I guess I just need to learn how to take advantage of that block, because right now I'm not!
Anyhow, the Sniper worked great for me playing deep on the short, dry pattern I played on this weekend. I normally have quite a difficult time playing deep, but I took my speed down some, stood at 30 and threw at 15 (trust me, that's deep for me
) and the ball held and made a nice little move at the deck. It was a tough pattern, and I had the high series in my squad. (624) I'll try it again this week in leagues and see if I can figure out a good way to play this ball on a house shot.
