DT Red/Black Hero --- overseas?
« on: September 03, 2007, 09:19:16 PM »
Just found this:
http://www.absbowling.co.jp/products/balls/2007/red_and_black_hero/index.html

Is it going to be a regular release, or is it just an Asia ball? Interesting core, though, looks a bit like a Hammer/Ebonite Propeller/Y core (No Limit) derivate?

Dyno-thane will be an overseas-only brand.  There are no more regular releases, unfortunately.  I'm not sure, however, if the new ones will even be USBC approved or not.

But it looks like if you want to throw DT, you will have to stick with the pre-Ebonite releases.

Thank you for the info! I am not so into DT, so I di not know. But I did not find the ball in the USBC list, which makes me wonder, since overseas releases normally pass this test, just to be legal for international competition? Strange.

I don't know if I asked this question before or not, but can someone provide the rationale as to why Ebonite decided to sell DT's internationally and not domestically?

Ebonite has no less than four domestic brands.  Columbia was one of the Big Four before the buyout and they're having to develop new cores and covers to get the Columbia and Track lines restarted.  Another brand, Dynothane, and a smaller manufacturer at that, is just another brand in a crowded market.

I don't think you can say "Oh, but I loved DT, now it's that much more difficult to find them".  The DT spirit is now with 900Global, the new DT is just a name.

SCREW EBONITE!!!

anyways phil sait that they sold out cause of the offer....and Ebonite decided to make D/T internationally only. just so more ebonite crap would sell...it all about business.
