Barrage: older but still excellent
« on: December 11, 2004, 01:50:01 AM »
Finally got a light oil ball that I believe will not overreact on most light oil conditions I face: the Dynothane Barrage. I tried it out this morning at the house where DJ's Pro Shop is located in Auburn, MA. Bowled on a fresh oil condition with it on the high end of the house. Experimented for 3 games with it. I was informed that this ball is great for down and in players, so for the first game I stuck around 10 board with it playing down and in- it would go long and then make a steady arc to the pocket. Tried moving deeper inside and swinging a little but due to the ball dynamics it didn't have enough strength to kick out the corners. I think this will work great on light oil and toast conditions, awesome control and hitting power.

Thanks to Chris (Goof1073) for the recommendation along with John at DJ's Pro Shop- I'll report more as I get the chance to use it more...

Matt

Matt...

Glad to hear that it's working for you thus far.  John and I look forward to hearing how it works out for you in VT and maybe even your Tuesday night league.

Sorry I missed you this morning, one of these days we have to hit the lanes together!

Update: I was able to use the Barrage in my Tuesday night league tonight after suffering a miserable 135 opening string (5 splits in the first 9 frames). This ball is truly a godsend for difficult conditions, I play down and in over the second arrow and kept myself out of trouble the following two games for a 202 and 179 (which should have been 190 if not for an errant spare miss in the 9th). I think this is going to be my go to ball on Tuesday nights.

MSC,..now you've let the secret out, Chris was supposed to make you take a pledge of silence. Now everyone will know about the "b", I guess if I was to tell you that the new Crisis Pearl is magic on dry lanes, burnt tracks,  second shift leagues, and late tournament blocks you'd blab that too..? We DynoThane users don't want all of the "ball of the weekers" buying up our stuff, and then trying to beat us with it....sssshhhhhhhh. je

Looks like you beat him to it, Jim.

The Crisis sucks, worst ball I've ever owned, no one should buy one of these, and forget the Crisis Pearl, you really don't wanna get one of those, no damn good, blah, blah, blah...

There, that should make sure there's enough 'a dem Crisis Pearls around for us D/T guys, hahahahahaha....

Funny, I actually just heard of the barrage earlier today.  I know this can easilly be answered by someone who will think I'm retarded but has this ball been discontinued?  I really need a good dry lane ball.

Barrage is still in the active line.  If you can't find one at your local pro shop, I'm sure you'll have no problem finding one online.

*ahem!*
