I have one that has really proven to be a great addition. My biggest problem scoring is when I have to move deep,...which for me (rh) is left of 20.
This happens a lot in the long format tournaments that I bowl, with multiple squads on the same day,..the track area gets toasted, and we see the carry-down monster rear it ugly head...
What I have done with this ball is it was originally drilled 4 1/2 x 4, one of my favs , for me is pin over the ring with a slight kick of the cg, which is just above the centerline. The ball was fine and worked great with box surface, no holes, smooth arcing, with a good read, just as advertised..and great hit...I have several other balls that also do that same thing. So,...
I talked to Del Ballard who now runs a pro shop at the center,...told him I needed a ball to play deep with, and showed him some of my stuff. We decided on two balls to work with,..a Thing Lives,(still in work), and this Energy. This high rev Energy was our first canidate...the first thing we did was drill a 1" x 2"deep hole in the pap,..this was to tone down the length/backend and let the ball read a little earlier,..the box finish made the ball read the dry too early,..so we Glossed the heck out of it,..then with a grey pad, hand scuffed the ball lightly... now I have a great look and reaction from deep,..out to the edge of the dry,.and the ball will roll into the pocket,..I actually have a little swing and tug area,..and the revs and strength of this ball carries really well from that deep...jim
