What would you do?
« on: December 07, 2006, 06:12:04 AM »
Guys I bought myself a Zr40, turned out to be undersized, sent it back to D/T. After calling 3 times and waiting a month and now to the point of being irritated I called back again today and they are sending me a Threshold (my choice of NE10 or that) to replace it. I just ordered a total inferno that should be here tomorrow or on monday, which ever.. So now I am curious to ask, should i just sell the threshold and get the crisis solid to take the place of the Zr40? Or should I drill the Threshold to be my real soup ball and use it for 10 games in the next 5 years.  I'm bummed cause I got a decent price on the Zr and wanted it to be a sorta control ball for THS nights.  Now I just got what i consider to be an oiler though many won't in the Total Inferno, I just don't know what to do with the Threshold.  Maybe I should have gone with the NE10, but it sounds as though its a real sharp move ball and I don't need that reaction for house shots, I have all sorts of options for that.  What would you do?

Here's a possibility:

You paid $X for the ZR40.  So far, as I understand it, that's all you're out.  They're sending you a T-hold to replace it, and at most online shops, the prices for both are pretty much the same.  If you can sell the T-hold for enough to buy a new ZR40, you're not out of pocket any more than if nothing had happened in the first place.  It's a hassle, but there's not much you can do about that now.

If the T-hold isn't going to do what you want and you don't think you're going to get enough use out of it to be worth your while, I'd get rid of it.  There's not much point in having stuff you won't or can't use.  If you kept the T-hold, you'd  be left without that "sorta control ball for THS nights" reaction that you want and you'd end up buying another ball to go there.

You could sell the T-hold, get the Crisis Solid (or another ZR), and maybe pocket a few bucks for your trouble (almost certainly if you went with the Crisis).

That is a true statement there, I don't want to buy ANOTHER ball, that would just be irritating and more money gone. I shouldn't have bought the Total as it was, but $80.97 for that ball, a towel, roughbuff, and a wrist brace R U KIDDING ME?  Anyway, I think you may be right on with this.  It may be that the house I am bowling in for scratch league is going to remember what oil is, last week was a trip with nothing stronger than the original element in my bag and a flood on the lanes... whoa nelly

It certainly gets to be a PITA.  I really think that my dealings will all become through a proshop ONLY and unless I get wowed with something D/T may have lost a customer in this deal.

Im not surprised... I ordered lefty tour ultras through school (collegiate discounts). They wouldnt give us a price quote because we had to go through usbc even though it is their product, and they didnt send out a price list. Lastly... they sent right handed shoes and when asked about it stated "oh, this happens all the time" you would think they would fix the problem
