Who has an American Eagle spare ball?
« on: September 28, 2004, 05:14:34 AM »
Just curious about those DT fans who have an American Eagle spare ball.  I don't see a lot of them, but I don't see a lot of spare balls with a graphic on them (like the eagle).  Most of what I see are solid swirly spare balls.

If you don't have an American Eagle... which spare ball do you use?

Bean Spillage:
DT is no longer producing the American Eagle ball.  DT is now looking to replace it, but believe it or not the ones they've tested are too soft!!  So if you have a request about a new spare ball (i.e. color, core) post your thoughts here!

I have a problem with throwing the national bird at spares, so I have a Blue Dot on order.

The local pro sho guy tells me that the Blue Dot is being discontinued in 14#, so this may be my last chance to pick one up.

And yes, I know they're just another White Dot now, but I still like the looks of them.

If D/T wants to carve a niche in the spare ball market, make one that is as hard as the Blue Dot used to be.

Put a picture of Osama on it, and I'll gladly throw it at spare wood.  If it comes back scratched up and gouged, all the better!

I throw a Snuffy spare ball, i like it because the cover is a little softer so it is multi purpose, and it looks cool! I think what bamaster meant was that the covers were so soft they werent even legal, am i right? But anyways, i would like to see a spare ball that has some kind of additive in it that makes it change colors as light refracts off of it differently. I would also like to see a mirrored bowling ball, one that you could see your face in, i don't think it would be possible though.

Stanski Brunswick does have two color shifting target zones i throw the blue one mystic ice and there is also a purple one arctic fire.  The blue one i got looks blue or green or purple at different angles and its pretty hard too.  Harder than my viz-a-ball and maxim.

I should just quit bowling, oh wait I already tried that.

o really, i wasn't aware of that. I knew ebonite made that one dry lane reactive ball that shifted colors, but i never saw anyone throw it or anything because it was so expensive. a mirrored spare ball would be really cool though, imo

I have one of the DT Eagle spare balls. I bought it at the ABC's this past yr. I think it was the last 15 lb-er they had.
