Drilled up the new Ebonite Omni last week and it is very impressive. It is a big motion ball. The combination of this Asymmetric core & strong solid cover stock allow this ball to pick up very early but it stays more continuous down lane than most bowling balls in this category. A lot will pick up early, but use all allot of energy early and kind of burn out. This ball stays strong thru the pin deck. I see using this ball on any high volume oil patterns. Low rev and high speed players will be able to use this ball all the time. Nice start for Ebonite at the new plant.

Length: Typical house shot 40 ish

Volume:  23-24 ml. -ish

The Omni is part of the first Ebonite release produced by Brunswick.  The cover is GSV 2.0 and it’s finished at 2000.  The Omni Core is a new design.  All I can say is that this ball is one of the best aggressive asymmetric pieces I’ve thrown.  I can use it for all 3 games of a league session, which is unusual for me when it comes to this class of ball.  I’m able to play close to the oil line on the fresh, and the carry is, in a word, superb.  It also gives me considerable release forgiveness. Many shots left my hand where I thought here comes another 10 pin, but the Omni dug it out. My carry percentage on half pocket and swish zone hits is much better than normal.  The back end is more angular than I expected given the pin down drilling.  I’m able to chase the oil left as the night goes on, and the Omni still hits the pocket with plenty of angle and energy. If you’re looking for a new high performance aggressive asymmetric ball, the Omni gets my highest recommendation.

This ball is extremely versatile. It can turn the corner or go up the boards consistently. It performs well on fresh and after three games on a pair with 10 bowlers. It rolls similar to the V2 and Gamebreaker line of balls. This is unusual as those two are not asymmetrical and the Omni is. This is a very good go-to ball when conditions get unstable.

For those old enough to remember the original V2 on the conditions of the day - this that ball.  Predictable, versatile for both conditions and bowlers.  Strong, one of the stronger midlane reads of the new Bruns/EBI offerings, more backend than Gamebreakers, better on slicker conditions that the V2 reissue - another favorite.  Compared to the updated Trimax, this will handle more volume/length than the V2.  Same shape, stronger backend.  Whereas I see the V2 reissue to be a house shot killer, it sometimes stuggles on longer/thicker shots - that is the sweetspot of the Omni.  Mine is laid out 4.5 x 4.  Roughly 65 degree drill angle.  This is my most versatile layout,  and the one I use to compare  balls/layouts with.

Do not overlook this ball - it will surprise you...It did for me.

This ball is one of the first releases from Ebonite since the acquisition by Brunswick, and I was excited to give it a try.  So far it has not disappointed. It has a very heavy roll to it and predictable shape combined with excellent hitting power.  I have thrown it on higher volume patterns and had the most success with it, as it shapes nicely in the middle of the lane and isn't afraid of seeing oil.

I have this ball drilled with the pin below the middle finger and using the out of the box surface on it.  It's a very versatile ball that complements many of the skip-flip offerings on the market today.  If you purchase one of these up you'll find it matches up nicely to a variety of lane conditions and will always be one of the options in your tournament arsenal.

The Ebonite Omni is the first high performance asymmetric ball made by Brunswick. This ball is being referred to as having the same motion of the Ebonite V2 released at the end of 2019. i did see the same predictable motion but overall a good 3 to 4 boards left on the approach. With the Dynamicore Technology, there is more hitting power at the pocket. For me, it worked best on fresh where control is typically needed. I see myself putting more surface on this on higher volumes of oil at grit levels of 500 or 1000. The Omni is a versatile piece and will work on a variety of pattern distances. Be sure to check out Ebonite's website for more detail.

Drilled my Omni 45x4.75x40 (pin over bridge) with the intention of having a strong benchmark ball to sit in the middle of my arsenal.  I ordered an Omni as I wanted a ball with both a solid cover for fresh oil and an asymmetrical core which would continue a bit more down the lane as I find my Verge and Method Solid to be a bit flat after a couple of games.
The Omni fit the bill perfectly!  It gave me a strong read in the oil, but didn't require the pattern to be soupy in order to get to the break point, while still giving me plenty of recovery down the lane.  One thing that I did notice was how the Omni has been very responsive to whatever English I put on the ball - whether that be trying to stay up the back in the track on fresh or trying to circle it from deeper inside so do not be afraid to trick it.

So far I have used the Omni on 45' Route 66, 39' Middle Road and 42' Gateway Arch all in a slicker house.  What has impressed me most is that this ball looked good on all 3 patterns and not all of that success was on the fresh.  I had my doubts on 45', but my look to the pocket was surprisingly good early on with tight angles, although a shinier surface would have probably increased my carry % once the oil began pushing down.  Increasing my ball speed and keeping my hand up the back gave me a fantastic look on fresh Middle Road and I was able to keep it in my hands until game 4 where I was at 4th arrow after gradually inching in, softening up and getting my hand around the ball.  As expected for a strong benchmark ball it looked great early on Gateway Arch, but by the 3rd game it was time for something a little tamer to control my angles as 6/1 can get cliffed when crossing with other players using sandpaper up the track.

Compared to other balls in my bag it sets up in a similar spot to my Verge and Method Solid but with more continuation down the lane.  This extra motion on the back end gives me the option of chasing the oil further left and still seeing recovery down the lane which means that I can keep the Omni in my hands longer.
The Omni is half a step earlier/smoother than the Authority and together have made a great 1-2 punch for me this summer.  Compared to the Prism Warp and Zing, the Omni does not rev up quite so soon and gets a little bit further down the lane.

The Omni has been my favorite ball of 2020 thus far and I recommend it to all styles of bowlers on anything with medium to heavy oil.  The Omni represents all purpose ball motion and if you are a bowler that only brings 2 balls to league, this would serve well as the stronger of the two.  Do yourself a favor and check out the Omni

If you liked the Vortex V2 then you need to get this ball in your hands. The Omni gives you the same predictability and versatility that you came to love from the V2. For me, I have been able to throw it on a variety of patterns and surfaces and I am yet to find a condition that I wasn’t able to be effective with it. Don’t just take my word for it, go get you one!

Ebonite is known for its smooth ball motion and very predictable reaction. The Omni solid looks and feels much like a V2 in its look, but it’s definitely a stronger ball. With a new Omni asymmetric core, this ball needs some oil in the front and midlane. I find the Omni a bit stronger than the V2 and Gamebreaker which for a lower to mid-rev player, provides a great, consistent reaction.
