Likes: The Raid revs up quick off your hand, reads the midlane well and makes a strong move to the hole. Hits and carries great.. Could be the first ball out of your bag..

Dislikes: Can get kind of squirty when it encounters some carrydown. If the heads are dry then put this one away.

I decided to drill a Raid because I liked the coverstock. Its the same cover that was on the Ebonite Angular One. I drilled this one with the pin above my ring finger, cg kicked out about an inch or so and the mass bias right next to my thumb hole. My PAP is 4 3/4" right and 1/2" up.

The first time I used the Raid was on a fresh house shot during one of my leagues at Executive Strike and Spare. The shot is pretty easy but carry can be troublesome sometimes. I started playing the Raid at my normal shot which is about 25 out to about 10 and this ball had a great reaction. It would clear the heads nicely and pick up alot of revs entering the midlane where it would make its read and then unleashed all its energy on the backend. The energy it delivered to the pins was excellent and it kept the pins low on the deck. Light hits seemed to carry well as did shots that ran a little high. Overall I was pretty impressed with the Raid.

I really wasn't expecting much out of the Raid. I figured it was just another Ebonite Angular One clone but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The Raid can definitely stand on its own and would be an excellent choice to be the first ball out of your bag.

This ball is going to be really good.Guys dont miss the boat on this one.I drilled mine with the pin 3 1/2 and mb 5 with a pin buffer of 1 1/4 and weight hole 4 1/2 over and pitched.The raid is very clean through the front part of the lane with a very good continuation with no quit on the backend.When i moved in and used a different hand position to gain more axis rotation it was still very clean through the fronts with a very angular move.Move on the backend is strong but still very readable.The thing i really like about the raid is how easy it clears the front part of the lane.

I drilled this ball up the other day and have only used it in 2 sessions, it is 15lb and i drilled it with the pin above the fingers the cg and mass bias swung out to the right of the thumb, with no weight hole. I went out know a little bit of what this ball would do and i must say the ball does read the mid lane and comes off the pattern smooth and makes a strong aggressive move to the pocket in the backend, i used it on a fresh house patter both time. This ball is so aggressive in the backend that i had to put it away because it hooked to much. I would reccomend this ball for a house league bowler with medium to no hand.

I would like to start off by mentioning that this is one of my favorite balls of the new line. The Raid combines the Angular One coverstock with a Low-differential Y-core (the core was also utilized in the No Limit). The coverstock / core combination in this ball provides exactly what you may think: it is extremely clean through the fronts and very continuous in the back despite the ball “revving-up” early.

The ball provides a very unique motion that any tournament bowler will love to have in the bag to enjoy. The Raid does not display the “hockey-stick” or flip off of the “spot” (break-point) that you will get from the Angular One, but rather something much more controllable and strong. The low-differential core makes the ball “start-up” early. The coverstock allows for the ball to go clean through the front part of the lane, regardless of the surfaces I have used (1000, 1000/factory finish polish, 2000, 4000 Abralon) and dependent on the lane condition without losing hitting power. Moreover, the Raid provides a VERY continuous and controllable motion in the middle and back part of the lane. It is an extremely versatile ball and will allow bowlers to utilize it at any point with the right surface.

I really love this ball when I have to move inside the third arrow and control the 3-pin for transitional moments of tournaments. If you were not a fan of the Angular One (I know there are some of us out there) do not be afraid to drill this ball. The surface truly compliments the core to allow for a much more different motion, as mentioned, with incredible, continuous direction.

1st Surface-Factory Finish-
Well I figured this ball would go long but wow. This ball is almost in an endless skid on short house shots, and has the sharpest break point I have ever seen. I got to throw this ball on three different shots at this surface. One is a 32ft house pattern, where the backend is sharp like I stated above. I have not been able to use this ball on that condition, it is to speed sensitive. Played around with this ball on the Chameleon pattern. Again this ball was very speed sensitive, and just did not work well for me. I also bowled on the scorpion pattern, and this ball look okay. I did not really have a speed sensitivity issue playing up 5. It was acually very smooth with the same length. This ball at this surface will work well in transition on this pattern.

I have since hit this ball with 1000 grit abralon pad, and found a better reaction, I will post anther review at that surface. In addition I also got anther one with the pin below the fingers and so far so good. I will also post a review on it soon.
