I started bowling 4 months ago.  I am still learning the different terminology so please cut me a little slack

After bowling one month with an old ball from when i was 10 years old (I am 26 now) I decided to visit a bowling pro-shop. My average was about 135 throwing a straight-style 12 pounder.  The pro-shop recommended an Ebonite Matrix Dynasty with a finger tip grip (I throw right handed).  With this ball I was able to throw a powerful curve on dry lanes (mirror finish).  I would line up my arm on the 2nd dot and throw for the 2nd arrow (basically a straight throw that hooks in the backend).  This new style earned me a high game of 246 and an average of 170.  I throw reasonably fast down the lane, with an above average amount of revs with a medium angle of rotation.

I will now attempt to explain the placement of my fingerholes on the Matrix Dynasty.  The white dot (pin?) is to the right of my ring finger.  The star is inbetween my middle and ring finger and an inch down (towards my thumb).  The bullseye is in inbetween the finger and thumb and then an inch to the right.  The bomb is a little below and slightly to the left of my thumb.

However, if I went to ANY bowling center with medium or heavy oil, my ball would just shoot down the lanes with no curve at all.  My scores would average in the 120-130 range

I spoke to the pro shop about this and they recommended that I wait for the new Ebonite Apex Aggresion.  2 weeks ago I was the first Apex Aggresion he drilled.  My "test" 3 games at the pro-shop's oily lanes were 170, 205, 187.  I was ecstatic!  In the past a 120-150 at these lanes would have been the norm.

The ball handles exactly like my Matrix Dynasty, but in oily conditions.  I have even managed a 244 with the Apex Aggresion.  Also, I threw my first 600+ series (636) with this ball.  As an example of this ball's potential, I bowled 8 games yesterday for a 188 average with a range of 223 to 157 (Got tired).  I am starting to break into the 200s once out of every three games.  I am still not a complete expert so I believe my scores will improve with more time and practice.

I will now attempt to explain the placement of my fingerholes on the Apex Aggresion.  The white dot (pin?) is to the right of my ring finger.  The star is inbetween my middle and ring finger and an inch down (towards my thumb).  The bullseye is in inbetween the finger and thumb and then an inch to the right.  The bomb is a little below and to the right of my thumb.

I am extremely happy with both balls and would highly recommend them for someone who is looking for 2 balls that will "do it all".  Matrix Dynasty - 5 stars in the dry lanes, Apex Aggresion - 5 stars in the wet lanes.

The Star Pro Shop in Addison, Illinois is where I have purchased all of my equipment.  They have very fair prices and the pro named Lynn is very knowledgeable and has drilled both of my balls so that they are very comfortable.

I will be double posting this review in the Matrix Dynasty section.

Even though the tech data says this is ERP particle cover (energy retaining)dont think that this ball will not hook early. Even with a slighly higher RG than the Particle Vortex 2 and combined with the fact the Agression is drilled to go a little longer, the Apex is much more stronger for me when talking about early roll, but has about the same backend component as the Vortex 2 Particle.

Again I drilled this ball with a 6 inch pin from axis on center line with pin above middle finger with CG below fingers.  I've liked all the Apex balls.  This one will hook the most.  It is drilled like the Adrenalin so when it won't hook enough this one will.  This ball should hook on anything. I was able to use it on a house shot deep inside.  If you need a ball to hook this is the one.

Started with a 4 inch pin and 75 degree bomb,
box finish, extra hole 4 inches over and 2 inches down.
If you are looking for a ball that will start up early,
well this is probably the right choice ,
but be warned this ball is going to require some oil to get
down the lane!
With sufficient oil this ball will read the lane and deliver
some very strong hit!
So if you are having trouble generating some early roll, pick up an
AGGRESSION today!

Well this one is pretty simple. If you liked the Adrenaline and you are looking for a sooner midlane roll this is your ball. I drilled mine pin under the fingers with a 1.5 inch shift on the cg.(4.75in pin and a 3.25in Cg from my PAP)I put a small hole on my Axis to assure the midlane roll I was looking for, and sure enough it was a sucess. Along with the Adrenaline no matter how early this ball reads the lanes it never really rolls out. They seem to have a very unique ability to continue reving up thru the pins. If your a traveling bowler you should make this purchase. Good luck and BOWL TO WIN

Check my profile for specs...

I recieved my agression with a 2-3 in. pin, and 4 1/4 top weight... I drilled it 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 with the bomb at 75 degrees and have left it in the box finish!
This is by far the mos hookingest ball the bowling has ever made.. It out hooked my adrenaline by alomst 7 boards.. on my house shot, i normally stand 21, hit 15, out to 6 with my ti pearl b/s/p, with the adrenaline i was standing 28, and my agression i have to stand 34 and hit 5th arrow...

This is by far ebonite's best ball in years. Ebonite has by far called themelves the #1 company in bowling today, and they are not messing around..

The previous 3 apex's have made me a firm believer that ebonite has what it takes to win... and with the new releases, i don't blame them one bit!!!

thanks for reading this review

I got this ball to play the heavy oil at The Orleans , so I had Wayne Webb drill it with the strongest stacked leverage ,w/pin 3 3/8 from pap.The ball had a 2" pin and with out of the box surface, the ball hooked out on the heavy oil and hit like a marsh mellow. So ,I shined it up and then it would not turn left in the oil. I took it back to Wayne and had it plugged and he put the pin under the ring finger with CG swung to the right to give it more length and now with box condition the ball works just fine in the oil.

I just recently purchased this ball! We layed it out on label the pin ended up just to the right of my ring finger and the cg right on my center of grip. The bomb ended up to the left of my thumb hole(Left out of box finish on it). This ball has a great roll to it! Very strong and TRUE it isn't squirty at all. It rolls like a urathene through the heads, a particle through the mid-lane, and a reactive in the backend! It had quite a bit of pop for me. If I didn't catch it just right I placked a few 10's. This is a great ball for oil, not recommended for a cranker possible a tweener, but definitely for a stroker! Until next time!

Good Luck and Good Bowling,
Michael

This ball is another great addition to the Ebonite line of Apex balls. I really liked the adrenaline, and a lot of my bowling friends liked the reaction of it. However since throwing the apex aggression, this really look like it will be a big bang ball. It has lot's of hitting power on the backend. It handles the oil very well. If you are looking for something to play with in the oil this is the bowler choice. I love the results. I shot a 290 on a fresh oil shot at one of the local houses.

I just got this ball one week ago. Got it drilled to have solid overall hook potential. Pin is placed above and slightly to the right of the ring finger,CG placed between fingers and thumb off to the right, and bomb placed at 45 degrees. Also a weight hole to take out half an ounce. This ball has very strong midlane hook and clears the heads very well. It has taken me a little getting used to, but it will carry. Backend reaction could be better, but if you put a lot of hand in the ball it will finish. 9 out of 10.

I drilled this ball 5 x 4 no extra hole.  Even with this high RG drilling, I found I needed oil to get the ball down the lane.  This is ok because that is what it is made for.  The shape of the hook is smoother than the adrenaline.  A few times I tried this ball without enough oil and the ball lost too much energy for the back end with my soft speed.  When you have enough oil, it will have plenty for the pins.  This is my most hooking ball.  If you need a ball for oil, I don't think you can go wrong with this ball.

Hey everyone, I personally didn't purchase this ball, but an acquantaince of mine with the same span/pitch let me borrow his for a few games.  Here's the scenario:

Pin Parallel to Ring finger, CG and bomb in vertical orientation to the pin.  Balance hole on the PAP

Synthetic Lanes, 40' X-mas tree.

Ball has been lightly polished.

The reason he'd let me borrow this was because my Eraser Blaze just wan't getting the job done.  The oil was reasonably fresh, and it wasn't picking up it's roll early enough to do any damage on the deck.  I was trying straight up 9,  and swinging 11-7 and neither line would give the Blaze time to get going.

I tried the Aggression 13-7, and holy crap was this ball dominating.  Its continuous backend reaction produced uncanny pin carry and smooth, consistant reaction throughout the entire length of the lane.

The light polish on it really helps this ball clear the front part of the lane easily, dealying the roll a little bit causing more stored energy when approaching the pins.  For my first experience with Ebonite, deinfately a positive impression.

This is a strong ball.I only used it for 2 games in a pba regional.256,279.Thats good enough for me.It was the 4th and 5th game. This ball let me play more in the oil.The ball was a little hard to read going down the lane because of the black and orange color scheme, but the X`s on the screen was really all I needed to see.

Had this 15# ball added to my Apex stable this week.  Had the #2 drilling with the pin below the ring finger which according to Ebonite is the best drilling for early roll in heavy oil with a strong backend reaction.

No question it works.  Shot 665 Sunday with alot of carry down and shot 669 this morning on a fresh shot on wood lanes with 36' xtree pattern.  Kept the ball in the oil to mid lane swinging from 14-15 to 7 and back like a freight train.  Actually to much ball for this condition, but I needed to work with the new ball.

Now have complete confidence in my apex arsenal of the original red drilled with the pin to the right of the ring finger for medium oil and the Intensity with the pin over the ring finger to go deep and hook on a drier shot.

Works for me using no wrist turn just alot of fingers and forward roll.  All three balls are perfectly readable under their designed for oil pattern condition.  Ebonite is KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
