Ebonite has enhanced their famous Game Breaker line in the Ebonite Futura bowling ball. The Futura takes the GSV-1 Hybrid coverstock and pairs it with the Futura HD (High Density) core which are the next generation of the coverstock and core used on the Game Breakers . The coverstock will take ball motion to a new level. The core has a low RG motion with increased backend continuation and better flare potential than the original GBs.

Color: Purple/Black/Silver
All colors do vary somewhat from the picture shown

Likes:The Ebonite Futura is a big strong rolling bowling ball that has a similar motion to the Gamebreaker line. I compared it against my GB3 which is one of my alltime favorites. For me the Futura reads the friction a little sooner and has a little more back end as well. It is strong off the pin deck. I see using this on fresh oil patterns when you need to trust the shape. It's not going to have that sharp angle that can create problems on the wrong shot. It's a keeper. Good color combo too. Looks cool on the lane.

LANE CONDITION

Length:42

Volume:n/a

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):THS

Likes: The Futura is the latest release in Ebonite's mid performance line up.
Found this ball to clear the fronts with ease, strong back end motion, with good continuation. A very predictable ball with hitting power!
For me, this ball would be in play on your medium length/volume patterns, and some heavier oil patterns. It's a stronger version of the GB series. One of my favorites of all!

Volume: medium

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): Challenge pattern

Likes: I like the Futura's coloration.  It talks to you from the rack.  Catches eyes as it destroys the pocket.  Can be used on any pattern, from 32 ft to 52 ft with changing hand positions and surface this is a one stop shopping piece of equipment.  Keep the cover fresh!!

Smooth is all I have to say about this ball. For a higher end piece, this ball never really flares a bunch for me, but do I love this ball for short to medium length conditions if I need to control the downlane reaction. Mine is drilled 50x4 3/4x30 and I can’t get over how controllable it is. With a fresh cover, it is still very clean to clear the front part of the lane and recovers well. Once there is a little lane shine, it does retain a little more pop. Overall, a 5 star ball in my opinion.

Welcome to the GB4.  My opinion.  This ball is the replacement of the GB3 solid.  Is it better?  Yes.  Is it as versstile?  For the right bowler - yes.  Let me explain.  I first saw/used this ball at the Bowl Expo showcase in Vegas.  On their conditions, the ball was a homerun for me and most others that threw it (I was working the showcase for EBI).  All styles matched up well on their ProAnvilane surface.  When I got home, on my condition, mentioned above, it was very strong, stronger than expected.  So, that being said, it's another in the long line of predictable rolling, strong midlane with good continuation on the back balls.  It's a predominantly black ball.  Black balls roll good, one of bowling's hidden axioms.

Got a slicker than normal shot - or a lot of volume but not a lot of length?  This is your ball....
