I drilled the Complete 5 by 5. I wanted to get good length through the heads and a hard arc off the break.

The Complete met my expectations and then some. As long as there is a little oil up front and no carrydown I can get to the pocket with regularity. It seems to wiggle in the carrydown and not carry very well but a surface change would probably help that but I didn't drill it for that purpose.

When the shot breaks down and the fronts begin to go the ball can still push down the lane and get to the pocket but it seems to use up to much energy trying to get there so carry is horrible (at least for me) but again I didn't drill it for that.

Overall a very good ball on its intended condition. You will definitely be able to keep up with anyone on the high scoring house shots. 299/809 in tournament this past weekend on an easy house condition.

I don't know the layout, but it is drilled for a left handed bowler and I never wanted to really it because it worked so well for me. I've loved this ball from the moment I threw it. I have a sanded one and a polished one. The ball hooks a lot polished and a little less sanded, but is still great. Overall the ball is great on all lane conditions.

Comments:

I got this ball as a result of being on the winning team for the Ebonite Elite Scratch League for last year.  Because of the short pin, it was laid out with the pin under the bridge and the CG out 45.  After throwing it in a few bowling centers and on some PBA patterns, I would say that it's the strongest pearl ball I've ever thrown.   The drawback is that you have to know when to put it away.  As long as there's enough oil to get it to the break point, it works fine.  Once the heads start to dry up and it starts to see friction a little early, it tends to lose energy and quit in the backend, resulting in flat 10s.   That's pretty much been the case if I'm using it on a THS or on the Scorpion or Shark pattern.   Due to the fact that it rolls too soon with 2000 abralon w/ polish and taking it to 4000 w/polish makes it way too oil/dry sensitive.

In summary, this ball works really well as long as you have head oil.  Once the front part of the lane dries up, move left and go around it more or put it away.   Good ball, but I like the Momentum better, so this is probably antoher candidate for selling back to the pro shop for trade in credit.   Probably would've been better with a longer pin and a pin up drill.

The Complete NV is supposed to be a  pretty strong ball with alot of midlane motion. But the layout on my ball made it go somewhat longer down the lane than what I really wanted with the pin 5 1/4" from my PAP. I first tried it with some polished at 2000 grit abralon and at times I found it to go past the breakpoint and ended up with over/under reaction. The polish on this ball would work better for those with a higher rev rate. But the backend reaction was very good and carry was great if the ball hits the pocket dead on. Preferred to use this ball playing inside from the 18 board to 7 at breakpoint since it will have a skid/flip reaction  

I later took it down to 2000 grit abralon dull and got a little better reaction and read halfway down the lane. It also took away some the power it had on the backend but was able to read the lanes somewhat earlier but not by much. At that surface it makes a good benchmark ball to see how the lanes will play out. Playing it straight up the 10-12 board was fine but it doesn't take long for the coverstock to soak the oil up. Kind of hard to keep it consistent once I played it inside the oil around the 18-20 board. Taking the surface down gave the ball more a strong arc midlane and the room for error was average. Even with the dull surface my NVD was still hooking a few feet sooner than the Complete NV.

How do I rate this ball: 7/10
It's a not a bad ball but layout choice is critical to get the right type of reaction and pin action with this one. Never really saw a lost in ball reaction even after 50 games or so. The ball seemed to be too condition specific for me but a good pearlized ball if you need one in your arsenel to read the lanes earlier.

This is a great ball when the conditions are right for it, with extra juicy heads and dry back ends this ball loves head oil.  I wanted this ball because I felt it was going to give me the skid/flip reaction I was looking for in my next pearl reactive.  Mine is drilled with the factory recommended drilling, pin just above and between the fingers and MB kicked 3.5" out, for the long and strong reaction that it's supposed to have, and I have retained the OOB polished finish. I would say this is the perfect ball when the back ends have little carry down I'm not a particularly high rev player and I throw it plenty hard so if there's too much oil down the lane it misses the break point and stays right, but when it tickles a dry board watch out as this ball gets very angular the farther it skids before hooking.  This ball can be very over/under when the condition is not optimal.  If it finds oil down the lane it won't recover. At the house I bowl in now I am averaging 215 with this ball as it suits the condition well but can be too much ball when the back ends are really hooking and is not good if there is much carrydown.
