very predictable roll, stronger than the other Mission's up front, strong motion off the spot, very heavy hitter in pins thanks too new core material, and coloration is incredible.

I drilled this one with a 70 x6-1/2 x 25. Great predictiblity through the midlane and stronger off the spot that any ball ebonite has. The new core material really makes the ball hit great. This ball is going to be a great piece for all styles.

Likes: The Mission X is predictable through the midlane and backend and allows me to throw the ball and get still get a strong response. The Mission X allows me to chuck it or roll it. The longer volume pattern is no problem at all for the Mission X.

COMMENTS

The Mission X is very clean through the front part of the lane and transitions very strong in the body of the pattern (midlane). Most balls will slow down too quickly with this type of stong midlane ball motion but the Mission X has tremendous continuation at the breakpoint.

The new core also has positive influence on the overall performance of the MISSION X too. It is very noticeable during the drilling process and seems to “cushion” the impact at the pins resulting in excellent pin carry. I have tweaked the coverstock with different abralon pads which results in stronger or delayed ball motion relative to the pad surface. This cover is extremely versatile for all environments. Another great asset to the new combination of the MISSION X cover and core is the variation in ball motion created with different hand positions. This is the most versatile and strongest Mission ball released to date. The MISSION X is must ball in a bowling ball arsenal!

THS - more in the middle and tapered to the gutters.

COMMENTS

Likes: Mid-lane and strong roll.

Dislikes: None thus far, ball is still fairly new.

The Mission-X, clears the heads very clean, with a strong midlane and back-end roll. When it hits the pocket, the pins scatter and drive low. The movement and carry is impressive, the one thing I really like with this ball is the drive after hitting the pocket, the ball does not deflect, it has strong continuation. I like the angle, roll and finish with this ball. I've bowed six games, it's already paid for, so that's a good thing.

I do not see over under, like with some of the new higher end balls. On tighter patterns, adjustments need to be made, slowing down my speed or moving right. After doing this, you can see the ball making the transition, rolling down the lane and seeing it flip and begin to roll, it doesn't skate, which is good.

Compared to the original Mission, this ball hooks earlier and stronger towards the pocket, at least 5 + boards.

Hopefully, the consistency will stay and ball death will not be an issue.

The Mission X has a very heavy roll and is extremely continuous through the pins. As with the other Missions, the ball does keep the pins low to the deck for the extra pin carry. However, because of the heavy roll, I can get into trouble when the lanes burn up. Then that is the time to use a Signal that gets through the heads better.

And no matter what anyone says.... I like the colors of the ball!!!!

Carry - Ball in true Ebonite form is skid flip and gets the corners out very well
Likes - Ball is clean through the heads, especially for a dull ball, and turns the corner better than any other Mission series ball to date.
Dislikes - This ball is great out of box, but unfortunately absorbs oil worse than a sponge. Once it does, it starts to shine itself up and lose its strong back end motion. You must keep the surface of the ball maintained at a lower grit to keep it moving like it did out of box.
Other

This ball is a strong ball, but the problem is the high number of games that I bowl every week. The ball just doesn't last long without needing a surface touch up.

MAN! This ball hooks... This is the first time I have thrown a ball with so much hook that, on a fresh house shot, I could barely get it to stay on the right side of the head pin.

My Mission X is drilled with pin high, 2 3/8" from cut line of fingers, and Mass Bias 3/8" from CoG (center of grip) line.

I have thrown my Mission X with out-of-box finish (3000 dull), 2000 dull (which is insane because it is 3000 out-of-box and I couldn't really control it enough to stay right of head pin), and 3000 polish. I love this ball polish. It gives me the read I'm looking for, still hooks a lot, and is much easier for me to control.

In case you were wondering, the 2000 dull was an over-under reaction for me. It either hooked way too much or rolled out, based on the house shot that I have here of course.

LANE CONDITION
This is best for lanes that do not play with a lot of friction.

Likes: Aggressive motion, and not crazy early.

Dislikes: Not very useful under most conditions.

Observations
Rarely do I run into a situation where I will run into a playing condition that plays so slick for such a long time, I need to take something as strong as this. However, as bowlers, you prepare for anything and everything, and this is the reason why I have two Mission X's. One that I use now, and one that I keep fresh for when I expect to need it.

Ball is drilled 55x5x35. Surface to 500/500/2k/2k. A small P1 hole will be put into it since there's a lot of side in it. If I go with a P2 hole or stronger, it will just roll out.

My experience with this piece thus far is literally for a few frames. It gets put away after a few shots because I have to be left of the headpin so fast, it just ends up messing up the playing conditions for myself and everybody else. Therefore, I don't plan on seeing this much.

Most user groups shouldn't be able to use this ball under most circumstances because it's so strong. I will also avoid using it on conditions I can use cleaner equipment because it will not only save the shell, it will also transition less in the front and back of the lanes.
