Layout: 50 X 5.5 X 25 with no extra hole.
Surface: 1000 abralon to cut the polish off, then light 4000 abralon just to smooth out the peaks and valleys in the cover.
Patterns tested on:
1) THS
2) PBA Viper
3) PBA Chameleon
I was anticipating the arrival of the Hard Ball and Curve Ball because the light bulb weight block is perhaps my most favorite core.
Very driller friendly, easy to tweak, and controllable are the qualities that come to mind when I think of this piece.
On Viper I stood about 10 and hit outside the first arrow and the ball gave me a nice, predictable arc that was easy to tweak as the lanes began to go through transition.
Chameleon I stood on 15 hitting 5 with end over end roll on the fresh. As the lanes broke down I moved my feet right, angled my shot more towards the gutter, and increased my axis rotation and the ball read the pattern beautifully.
I really see this ball becoming my go-to piece as it is something that I can manipulate and it doesn't jerk sideways. I always love bowling balls that have this characteristic.
I can even probably use the Curve Ball on fresh typical house shots here on Long Island as most centers do not oil very heavily and it always seems like the heads hook a lot anyway.
I personally feel that the coverstock preparation gives me that perfect niche reaction as it hooks more than my Hard Ball, but less than my Benchmark ball the Game Plan.
If you have any question please do not hesitate to contact me, and remember that the Curve Ball is sure to strike out the opposition!
