I just picked this one up last night. Pin on top of ring finger and cg kick out a little. This is a real good arcking ball. This is a real mild ball. It dose not want to hook out of the house. It helps to have a driller. Joel at Hemet AMF Lanes CA is one of the best I have had punch up a ball. He drilled it and I was abel to use it with out running back to the Pro shop. I have 3 games on this ball but what I have seen I like. Will post more latter when I get more games on it.

Excellent piece from Ebonite with none of the original Fire's bad habits.  I drilled this one with a 4 1/2" pin-PAP, 3 1/2" MB-PAP, and pin 1 3/4 up from my midplane.  It is extremely clean through the front, with good transition to roll early in the pines for a pearl.  Backend is phenominal provided the ball has friction to work with.  It has more midlane than any pearl I've thrown in a long time, with little tendency to spend too much or burn up.

For the price, this one's a no-brainer.

I am just learning to throw a hook.  This ball has been incredibly easy to learn with.  I know very little about bowling ball technology, but I believe that the easier the ball is to throw the better the ball is.  I have found that the Cross Fire is very consistant.  If I hit my mark, it hits the pocket...no exceptions.  So far, I love throwing my new Cross Fire!

This is probably one of the best ebonite balls ever made. it goes long and has a nice strong, controllable backend and great carry. its best lane condition is probably med. oil, but since i throw  it kind of slow i like it in heavy oil. i own the xxcel, the xxxcel, the one and the big time pearl and this ball out performs them all in any lane condition. my avg before i got this ball was in the low 180s now after getiing this i was able to consistently bowl 195 and higher. if anyone is thinking about getting this ball it is a great ball and i highly reccomend it. id definately give this ball a 10/10

I AM REALLY ENJOYING THIS BALL. MANY HAVE TALKED ABOUT "THE ONE" AND EVEN THE THE "BIG TIME PEARL", BUT THE CROSSFIRE GIVES YOU THE BANG FOR YOUR Bucks FRONT ENDS ARE LIKE TAKING A SUNDAY STROLL Through THE PARK, THE BACKENDS ARE LIKE THAT PIT BULL THAT INTERRUPTS A KIDS PICNIC WITH 10 5YEAR OLD SITTING AROUND. I HAVE SHOT 719 684 AND 727 THE FIRST THREE TIMES I'VE BOWLED WITH THIS BALL. ITS WORTH THE LITTLE THEY CHARGE FOR THIS BALL.

Pin Placement: 4 inches from PAP in a 10:00 direction from CG
Or about 1 inch and slightly above and to the left of ring finger,
CG Placement: 4 inches from PAP

I was wanting a ball with mid range hook and had this one recommended
to me. This ball fits perfect with my style of play.  It was not
hooking as much as I preferred after having it the first month and 20+
games on it. I decided to change the coverstock to 2000-grit Abralon
and now the ball hooks 2-3
boards more and is perfect!

The ball is very consistant with Very nice front end and excellant backend.
This ball feels alot more forgiving on the lanes and an excellant
ball by ebonite.

UPDATE Oct 2006
I now have over 100 games on this ball with no loss in reaction.
I clean it after every set and apply Tracks clean and tacky.

You would be surprised as to how good this ball really is. For 120 bucks out the door, this ball can carry more, and outhook my weak ultimate Inferno. Drilled 3x3 (roughly) with the pin down and out and the cg about an inch below the centerline. It gives me the exact same read as my 5x5 ultimate inferno but with 5 more boards of overall backend. Its stronger than my v2 clean but weaker than my v2 sanded. If you absolutely love those balls. Buy this.
