Hey all,Just got back from demo day's, a seminar Ebonite held here in kc today! Got a chance to throw the new Matrix and Wow !

Cover; black&silve pearl swirl like the pearl wipeout, totaly cool

Core; modified tomahawk core done with the bombs away, like the tombstone

but i can tell you this, the shell on this ball is nothing like any other shell with an E on it!

We got to throw this Matrix along side of a Puma,Navy Stinger,Sparkle Wipeout, and the impressive Wildcat!

The shell on the Matrix will float through the heads better than all the rest! oh and by the way the shell also alows the ball to recover better than all the rest also!

For people who want to see there ball rev up, the modified core from the tombstone, was altered to alow a tighter flare pattern for control and predictabilty!

Brian Pursell, Ebonite's Tecnical designer(and total brain)has matched up all the right components to fill a void in Ebonite equiptment! This ball will match up with all style of bowlers looking for alittle more skid/flip reaction with predictablity!

The ball should be released in mid september! have fun!

Well to keep it short I only drilled 4 of these babies for myself, fantastic ball. I usually wet sand them with 800-1200 and throw 5,000 polish over them and these balls work great. Factory polish is too strong so this is what I found to work best for an easier push to the right and still have enough on the backend to blow the rack. Not as skid flippy as everything else out there so to me it's the best thing Ebonite has made in the last 2 years. I've been placing the pin over and right between the fingers with positive and negative side cg layouts and both drillings work great if you like to swing the ball. Going to bowl on some flypaper or saran wrap whatever you want to call it this weekend and look for some great scores from this ball.

I'm impressed with Ebonite for the first time this year, I hope they can keep the TPS to a minimum I believe the reactive material by itself has better recovery to it.

Have Fun

I can't believe two ball with the same name differ so much. This ball, unlike the TPS.....or should I say P O S.......is a winner........on tour, in leagues, at tournaments. It's a truck. Though a little squirty on oil, it holds none of the characteristic of weakness that it's lable mate has. It's predictable, true and finishes strongly. This is what I expected in a Matrix.

I had the opportunity to test this ball along with the Trimax II, TPS and TPS II recently at an Ebonite demo.  What I found with this ball, on the condition I faced (heavy head and midlane oil, a lot of carrydown), was a squirty ball with little backend reaction.  The surface was box condition, and because of the lack of surface, this ball didn't move too much.  I feel this ball, out of the box, would be great for fresh backends.  Give it some surface on carrydown condtions, and it may be ok, but there are better choices to use more surface on.

Gets down the lane pretty well, but it's not a flipping ball, it's more of a hook set ball.

If you've always wanted a pearlized zone and hate Brunswick equipment, this is the ball for you.  If you want something to get down the lane and flip like there's no tomorrow, get a Titanium Messenger instead.

This is Ebonite's first attempt using three different additives in a Black/Silver polished reactive. The core is the famous tomahawk core found on the High/Low Torque and the X-Plosion. This ball slides thur the heads with ease and gets into a strong roll in the pines and a very controllable arc on the backends. The thing I was most impressed with this ball was the predictable reaction for a fairly strong ball. This ball hooks a touch less than the Trimax II and has a more of a "Down and In" reaction. It still has enough hit to be used from an inside angle. If you are looking for great controllable reactive for Medium/Dry to Medium/Oily look no farther. Thanks to Brian Pursel from Ebonite for producing a winner. Bowl to win! Thanks for reading my review, Dwight.

Looking for a ball that was easy through the heads and strong in the backend.  I already have two great medium balls in the sledgehammer(drilled 3 3/8 pin control mass bias) smooth backend, and my pro zone violet(drilled stacked under ring finger) smooth on medium oil with fairly strong backend.

Up till now my impact zone was my go long and flip hard ball.  The problem was it flips a little too hard!

This matrix I love the look and feel of the coverstock.  I drilled it according to Ebonite drill sheet 5 X 5.  Big mistake I think.

Typically this is not a good drilling for me.  Often the result is bucket, split, bucket, split.  Guess what I got this time?

Bucket, split, Bucket, split.  I believe this great coverstock ball could work beautifully for me if I had drilled within my successful range of 2 inch pin to 4 1/4 pin.  I seem to need a little more flare

than that which is created from a 5 inch pin.  Another option would be place a hole on the pap to smooth this thing out.  Another would be to do a 10:30 label drilling (I'm lefty).  I never seem to get good results from reactives when I stack the pin over the CG (always this over under) For my proactives stacking works great!

Fortunately I've found the solution to this slot and that is the Lightning Flash from Storm drilled 11:00 Oclock label.  See my review.

This thirty frame Matrix ball will be posted on the auction site.

Drill it right or if you like 5 X 5 drillings you will love it.  Wish I'd drilled it right!  I've seen it in other bowlers hands and loved the look on the lane.

Pocket Percentage baby!

This is my second review of this ball.  First review I drilled the

ball 5 X 5 for length.  Resulted in bucket, split, strike, bucket, split.  Not enough flare for me.  I plugged and redrilled 4 inch pin label drilling.

What a difference!  Ball is now exactly what I was looking for, just like my Impact Zone but just a little less jumpy!  It revs up nicely

retains energy and then crack a smooth powerful move to the pocket with explosive pin carry at the back.  It hits almost as hard as my awesome Pantera which I use on heavy oil.  This ball I will use on medium.  Also can be compared to my Ti messenger which is drilled the same way.  This ball turns just a little further down the lane and a little less sensitive to jumping off dry boards

Repeat this ball is no longer for sale.  Note the proper drilling can really change a ball!

I purchased this ball the day it came out.  I've never thought about writing a review until now.  This ball was drilled lable w/ a twist.  This is the ball for length if you need it.  It is your proto-typical skid snap.  I never really cared for this ball, the carry power just wasn't there for me.

I bought this ball in the summer of 2000.  So i have thrown enough games on it to make a decent review of the balls characteristics.  I dont know much about the drilling.  I know it has been drilled for maximum backend.  Out of the box this ball has a very hard flip toward the pocket.  But after throwing it for a while the hard flip gradually lessens to a smooth backend arch.  Either way this ball hits and carries VERY well, the only exception being that it tends to leave a lot of 4 pins.  With the surface left in the out of the box condition this ball is great for light/medium oil patterns, but when i add surface with a burgundy scotch brite pad it can handle heavy oil.  I rate this ball a 9 out of 10. It is the first ball out of my bag.  The only negative is it does tend to leave a lot of 4 pins on shots that seem to be buried into the pocket.

GOOD LUCK!!!!
STROKER POWER!!!!

I just recently had this ball drilled. It is a great ball to add to an arsenal! I drilled it 4x4 and put a weight hole on my pap! Also put 2 coats of ebonite's extender polish on it. This ball rolls very well it is clean through the front 35 or 40 feet, then starts to turn back. You could probably get the ball to go a little longer but me being a power stroker it allowed me to have a strong drilling and a weak surface. This is a great all round ball I would recommend this ball to just about anyone. Stroker, tweener, or even a cranker! This is a great ball for a house shot. Especially when the backends are fresh or dried up.

Good Luck and Good bowling,
Michael

P.S. some of my scores in league are 703-660-621-686-707( the last 18 games of league ) And shot about 6 or 7    250's with it. To add to this review once more I shot my highest series ever a 741(254, 229, and 258[had a 279 clip on the last game]) This is really a great ball... I have 8   700's and 3 of them have been this year with this ball.
