Likes: Very strong roll in the mid lane, was hoping for a little more angle like the Angular One, but it does make a very strong move.
Dislikes: Dry Lanes would make it hook way to much, polish helped but it was just to strong at the break point.

Great ball overall, slower ball speeds or rev dominate players could use this in heavy oil, the rest would be medium oil, Speed dominate players with polish could use it when lane dries up a little, but still could be too strong.

Comparing to what’s in my bag:

Angular One – 3 3/8 X 4 – 4000 Abralon with Ebonite Polish
Pin Slasher 1 has the Same cover and lay out as my Angular, But the Pin Slasher does get into a roll sooner, has a smoother look at the break point but recovers a ton more. Pin Slasher 2 rolls just a touch sooner than the Angular One but Longer than the Pin Slasher 1 and It is extremely angular at the break point.

Black Widow Bite - 3 3/8 X 4 – 2000 Abralon
Pin Slasher has the same lay out as my Black Widow Bite, the Bite got into a roll a little quicker than the Pin Slasher and was much smoother at the break point. Where the Pin Slasher did make a more violent ball motion. Pin Slasher 2 got a lot more length and was way sharper in the back end.

My Specs: LH, 18MPH, 300RPM, 25 deg rotation, 12-15 deg tilt, PAP 5 1/4 & 5/8

I drilled the Pin Slasher to create a similar look to my old V2, with which I led a Senior PBA stop.  The layout is 45 deg, 5" pin, 45 deg angle to VAL, wt. hole 4 1/2 over and 1/2 up.

Although the cover is stronger, the shape of the ball was reminiscent of my V2.  Specifically, the move near the breakpoint is strong and the back end motion is strong and continuous, just short of flippy.  The hit on this ball is GREAT, and it fits well into my arsenal as a medium to medium-strong solid.  It also looks like it will be a very versatile ball, which is something I always look for.

Drilled this one up 5x5 and this ball does not perform like a mid priced ball but more like a high performance one. The ball cleared the heads good and just got through the midlane and then took a dive left and just kept going. If your looking for a high performance ball but just lacking the funds this is an excellent ball to put in your bag. Great job Ebonite for keeping the price down on this one because it could have easily went on the top shelf.

Just a quick follow-up to my initial review.  I used my Pin Slasher last weekend in a PBA Regional in Eureka, CA.  After burning a little spot for myself in practice with my NVD, I went to the Pin Slasher up 5 and had a GREAT reaction.  The skid in the front matched up well on Viper, and the down lane read and back end motion was perfect for my first match.  I got a 230 look in a tournament where no one had averaged 210 to that point.

Once the shot breaks down a little, this ball has great motion through the mid lane and the back end, with tremendous carry.

I had this drilled up stacked.  This ball is an absolute beast!  Last night was the first night out with it and it took a little getting used to.  But after i found it, this thing found the pocket shot after shot.  It rolls real clean through the mid and has a very strong back end.  It carries exceptionally well unless thrown flat and then of course come the 10's.  OOB shot 229-280-227 for a 736.  Not too bad!  Great ball at a great price!  Great job Ebonite.

Sarge Easter w/ IT thumb grips. Ball is 15lb with a 3.5 inch pin. Ball was drilled with the pin above middle finger w/cg slightly kicked out. Ended up 5.5 X 5. Polished with factory finish. This ball gets clean down lane and makes a strong, smooth, continuous move to the pocket. Really versatile ball motion. Lets me play a little bit inside and strong outside. Thanks to Monty Stratton at Bowlers Depot Oceanside.

I put the Pin over the ring finger and left cover out of box. This ball very smooth, hooks more than the gamebreaker but much more even. Do not let the smooth roll fool you, this ball hits hard. I did find that a lite shine was needed when I moved deeper than the third arrow.

The Pinslasher is the second of the four balls I recently got punched up and after not throwing ebonite gear since the One first came out (not the remake One) I must say I have been missing out on some great bowling equipment.

I have had much success throwing the Pinslasher on a variety of patterns excluding the dry and burnt patterns/conditions, the reaction is stronger than my Playmaker in the mid lane and also in the backend. I can see the ball digging into the lane from the moment of release to the pin deck (surface heavy equipment tends to do that) and the backend reaction is a strong roll out type reaction. On the heavier patterns the Pinslasher shines bright for me as I play a straighter angle to the pocket and as the pattern breaks down I have no issues with carry down.


The Pinslasher is a great partner to the Playmaker and in my opinion excels on multiple patterns excluding the drier/burnt conditions.

Not sure everyone will like this review but I have had bad experiences with this ball.  I traded a ball for one of the pin slashers.  I'm not sure if the one I got was a dud or extremely used up but I received hardly any backend reaction on light or medium oil.  It was drilled pin up with the cg out to the right, and polished.  The length was there but I saw no reaction to dry downlane.
I have sence traded my pinslasher to another bowler that is having success with it but I just didn't par up well with this ball.  Personally my playmaker is a much better ball and reacts better to oil and dry shots.
