Hello all, whats up?  I bought this new Savage Pearl couple days ago.  What a great ball.  Drilled with the pin under the middle finger and the cg kicked out to tame it down.  First time i threw this ball, shot a 210.  Lane conditions i'm bowling on right now are wet/dry with fresh backends to carry down.  This ball reacts a lot like my Optyx Spider.  But hooks and hits harder than my spider does.  I pollished my spider up soo much so i can use it on really dry lanes.  If anybody is looking for a good med-dry oiled ball I would recommend the Savage Pearl.  Its such a great ball.

Well, I've thrown this ball a little bit....mostly at a center that has beat up Guardian Heads and wood backends.  I'm impressed with the ball and really like the way it retains energy through the midlane.  Mine's drilled with the pin in the bridge and CG kicked out a little.  It's not as release sensitive as some other Ebonite balls I've thrown.  If I had to pick a limitation it would be the breakpoint strength, but that's probably because of the drilling.  It tumbles pretty good.

Everyone should have one though, it's a very good hole-filler.

I drilled with a little shift to positive from center line.  The pin is 4 inches from axis just to the right of ring finger.  This ball did what I thought it would do out of the box.  This will be a good ball for a player with a lot of hand.  It rolled very good all the way down the lane.  It never really overacted on the backend unless I threw it real bad.  Should be a good ball for medium to drier lanes. I won't go to a tournament without this ball.

Drilled this up Hook set and changed the surface too 2000 with Particle Polish and Extender. I bowl on a lot of dry conditions and with this combination, I achieved a great smooth reaction on the back ends, and very clear and quick through the fronts. I would greatly recommend this ball if you are having troubles with the dry area of the lane. This also help eliminate over/under

If you have read ony of my other reviews you will know that I always drill my first ball the same way. Pin under or just over  my ring finger. (4 to 4.5 inches from pap)This ball was no different. If you liked the original Savage then this ball is probably a must. If you didn't than it definately is.I drilled 3 or 4 Savages and I could never really get them to match up to my rev rate and ball speed. This ball, I have 2 of them and they match up perfect. With a more forgiving cover this excellent weight block can be drilled many different ways to accomidate almost any rev rate and ball speed. Congradulations on this purchase. If your ball driller or your self knows your game and matches this ball up, hold on it's a beauty.

Pearl Savage 2-3"pin, 3oz top

For those of you that didnt like the original Savage, this is for you. Where the original tended to be conditional at times, the Pearl is much more playable. Drilled pin below ring finger, Cg straight below. I got a lope motion thru the front/mids with an easy to read roll on the backend. Just as clean as the Dynasty with a harder move toward the pocket. Incredible hit! The core in the Savage is one of the best on the market, finally we get to give it more play!

I started with a 4x4 layout.

I have to say that this cats series is incredible!
If you are looking for performance with value...
go to your local pro shop and set up the cat arsenal,
you would not be disappointed...back to the savage pearl.
I have had the opportunity to play on a burned up sport shot
and an older wood house that had a lotta hook. So far have seen
great results, very easy to get the ball down the lane and an
ample and controllable backend reaction. With this layout I have
this ball in my bag right between my V2 solid and V2 pearl.

I drilled this ball 4 1/2 strong with no extra hole.  This ball pushes a little longer and has a stronger back-end than my dynasty.  The hook shape reminds me of the tiger.  I have only used this in PBA Regionals.  I don't know if it will over and under on a house block.  It reads the lane very well on a PBA pattern.  If you need a ball to get down the lane, this is a good choice.

Drilled up the pearl Savage the other day and I am extremely impressed!! Box specs were as follows: 15 lb. 6 oz. 3-4 inch pin 2 3/4 oz top weight. Drilled it 4 1/2x3 1/2 which put the pin under my ring finger and the cg below the midline, small weight hole about 2 inches below my PAP on the VAL. I was looking for good length with a midlane read and strong backend, and I got EXACTLY that. I was bowling on lanes that had a league on them right before me, so I had some carry down and decent head oil. It glides through the heads effortlessly, revs in the midlane, and has a nice strong arcing finish. And let me tell you, this baby HITS!! Not only does it hit very hard, it hits very loud as well. I like satisfaction of knowing I inflicted a little damage on the pins, ya know? Anyway, the pearl Savage has claimed a permanant spot in my bag and I am contemplating on drilling more of the newer Cat line. If they are half as good as this one is, I will be thrilled!

We drilled two of these for shop guys.

The first bowler is more of a spinner and his ball was laid out with a 5" by 5" stack with the box finish.

The other bowler is a high rev, high speed bowler and his ball was laid out with a 5 1/4" by 5 1/4" drilling with a Polished 800 grit finish.

Both bowler felt like that were able to have the ball recover on shots wide of target, and pulled shot where more forgiving.

The spinner was able to play around 3 arrow and get the ball out the the 10 board at the break point and the ball was able to drive and carry very well. When he missed wide of target this ball still had enough energy to get around the corner and still have good hit.

The high rev, high speed bowler was able to play around 3 arrow and swing the ball to the 5th board and get the ball back. The ball carried extremely well and held the pocket through the pin deck.

I think that with these two different bowling styles that both bowlers were able to create more area and get the pin action that they need.

I would recommend this ball to any bowler that is looking for a ball that is midlane arcing. I think that Hammer has created a great line with their first 6 releases and I look forward to any ball that they release in the future.

what a nice smooth rolling ball!. i got this for when the heads dry up and it works great. it dosent snap for me but what i get is a smooth arcing movment to the pocket with good carry. i got this one to put in between my vicious particale and my stinger low flare. this is a great dry lane ball.

This is a great ball if you need it to get down the lane and have a very strong arch to the pocket...It saves just about every bit of energy it has to explode in the last 15-20 feet of the pocket... I am right handed with above average speed and revs. and this is the piece I have been missing first series out the box was 268-246-279(second game I got creative or stupid for a few frames.  This ball is a "10"

The pearlized version of the Savage was another nice addition to the line.  I drilled one factory finish Savage Pearl with the pin at 5 inches from my PAP and no balance hole.  The Savage solid with the same layout reacted a bit earlier the the pearl even when highly polished.  Both balls have worked well from inside angles on synthetic and wood surfaces, but for my moderate ball speed the Savage Pearl seems to provide the extra length necessary to be more advantageous on choppy wood surfaces.  The strong angular breakpoint provided by the Savage Pearl on broken down patterns was just as potent as the Savage solid's angle on fresher conditions.

The Savage Pearl in factory condition can occasionally be speed sensitive at the breakpoint on some longer lane conditions that have not broken down.  Bowlers with faster ball speeds would seem to benefit most from using the Savage pearl on light oil patterns.

The Savage Purple/Blue Pearl would be a great choice for bowlers with soft to moderate ball speed in search of a strong pearl resin ball in the mid-price range.

This is ball was the answer to "THE TRILOGY". The name says it all it is
definitely a "SAVAGE". It tears the lanes to pieces. I bought this ball hoping
to play it on more fresh house conditions. I have posts on the V2 particle and solid, this ball is the next in line. Since I am not able to throw the V2's often in the area my pearl savage is definitely the first out of the bag. Mine is drilled 3x5 and carries like a champ. I have not found the ball to be very conditional. As long as there is enough head oil to get the ball to the backends this ball will do the rest. I have not thrown a more forgiving ball since me Columbia 300 beast. A definite 10 out of 10 keep them going EBONITE you have made a believer out of me.
