The coolest ball ever made. I hate when I need to use it (generally at 10 pins), but when I do eyes turn and heads roll, literally.

Today, was the first day I had every seen a Skull Ball.  It was funny because the person who just got it, isn't that great of a bowler and didn't really care about getting a spare ball for 10 pins or any other type of spare.  Once we started league, he whips it out and starts using it for a strike ball!!!  I was like WHAT??!!  After all, I was suprised by how much it could hook.  I mean, he didn't throw it slow or anything either.  I have a Ruby Gemstone that I got in April of '99 and I can't get it to hook at all.  It is my favorite spare ball yet.  I just had to say that about this ball.  Oh yeah, and one more thing, this ball looks really creepy and not like a fun time ball!

I had this ball for not even a month, and it was cracking out on me.  I don't understand why, but I was ticked about it.  It was a cool ball to throw, but i would never use it ever again.

This has got to be the most revolutionary bowling ball in the history of bowling.  The ball has crossed over into main stream.

Since this ball was introduced it has been a hot item in the bowling world, and with only 6,600 made, the supplies are very limited.

You will have trouble finding this ball in your local pro shop, but E-Bay is the biggest place I have found to get one of these balls.

I have to say Hats Off to Ebonite for coming up with this ball.  This ball has help gain the interest of occasional bowlers, who are tired of using those plain old house balls.  I think everyone is sitting around waiting for the next great release.

On a scale of 1-10, I would give this ball a 9.  This ball has a very small hook potential, but it is a great addition to the Ebonite line, and a great boost for bowling.  This novelty ball is one of a kind and will be sought after for many years to come.

Skull Ball

  Just another spare ball.
The only thing it does it causes a lot of stares when you take it out of the bag. The novelty wears off after a while.

Not worth the extra money, unless you are a collector. If not, just get any columbia white dot or other less fancy spare balls from other companies.

Save your money on this and buy another medium range ball like an eraser, or messenger titanium pearl. You will be happier you spent your money on those balls.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO BUY ANOTHER SPARE BALL!!! THIS BALL IS ALRIGHT FOR OILED LANES BUT LOOK OUT FOR DRY BACKENDS.  I RECOMMEND TO GO AND BUY A COLUMBIA BLUE DOT, WHITE DOT, OR ANY OTHER BASIC PLASTIC BALL.  PLUS BUYING ONE OF THEM YOU WILL SAVE ABOUT 60 BUCKS, WHICH IS A VAERY GOOD THING.

P.S.  iF YOU WANT ATTENTION, AND THATS ALL, GO GET IT, YOU WILL GET STARES FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS LOL

SPECS:

15 lb 4 oz
3.86 oz. top weight
0-1" pin

This is possibly the most clever bowling ball ever created. Featured prominently in the movie "Mystery Men", the release of the Ebonite Skull Ball has caught the public's attention by Storm (). Little kids and grown adults will scuttle up to where you are when you take this baby outta the bag. Comments such as "That's sooo cool" and "How in the world did they make that?" arise every so often.

In addition, it's a GREAT ball to use on toasted lanes. I had a chance to actually throw the Skull Ball on lanes that seemed as if they hadn't been oiled in 30 years. Using it as a strike ball, it hit a lot harder than I would expect, being a spare ball. Has a somewhat late move on bone dry lanes, but is very controllable as well.

Converting simple spares has never been easier with this ball, but I have to admit that it sometimes it gets nauseating watching this ball roll on the lane due to the clear Optyx coverstock and off-white colored skull core. Overall, a great ball for spares and extremely dry lanes. This gets an 8.5 rating on a scale from 1-10.

Bah - I tend to disagree on all these previous reviews.

This is the best spare ball I've ever owned ... with an added bonus.  Last week the lanes at my league were "bone" dry (pun definately intended). I put away my Big Bully after the first game, pulled out "Grandpa" and let it fly.  Finished with a 215 and a 232 while everyone stuck with the same equipment and b*tched to no end.

It's a unique ball and I love having it.

Great Spare ball picked up many for me over the past year.  The only down side is that this ball does crack.  Mine is cracking around the thumb and fingers, but most balls of this type do that, even vis-a-ball so if you like the stares and the way it looks get it!  Its not vis-a-ball, it just looks better and is EBONITE!!
