I've had the ball for a couple weeks now.  I've used it only on synthetic lanes.  It is drilled to go long and break sharply.  Pin over ring, CG marker under and right of the ring, bias marker right of the thumb and a balance hole close to the PAP.

At first I left the ball in the box finish.  Picked up a White Dot spare ball at the same time.  On the first shot the White Dot outhooked the One.  That is some polish job on the ball.  It gradually started hooking more and more.  After about 10 games it was getting to be the ball I expected and probably more.  If you held the speed way down you could play it as deep as you wanted but push it a little and it was like a hockey puck after a slap shot.  After a few more series on the ball I took white Scotch Brite and when the ball was wet with cleaner, I gently worked it in with the pad.  The ball is still very shiney but it is a little more forgiving than with the box finish.

This is the only ball I've ever had that allows me to play as deep as I care to and still absolutely rips the pins when it turns the corner.  You can see the 10 pin cringing when the ball makes its move and for me that is impressive!Compared to my Storm Triple X it is a beast at the break point.  For me, the well used slightly scuffed XXX will play easily on an outside or track line where the One is way too over/under for that shot as I have to push the speed to where I am no longer consistant.  It actually is much more controllable for me on a second shift shot where the heads are worn a little and there is some carry down.  I had a chance to play it 5th arrow on a shot similar to the U.S. Open oil pattern and it was more ball than I have ever thrown before in my life.  I thought the Yellow Dot was the strongest ball I had ever thrown back in the day but this ties it or maybe even beats it.

If you can repeat your shots consistantly this ball is excellent.  If you are the kind that sprays your shots or changes speeds it will be a plague in the polished condition.  It is definitely for the more skilled bowler or in my case, a good ball to use when the backends and heads have mellowed out from a fresh league wall shot.

Ok i have had this ball for about 2 months. Its drilled stacked levrage and the number 2 pattern on the drilling sheet. This ball gets down the lane and makes a strong but predictable move to the pocket. The ball hits hard and it very good on med-heavy oil any more or less and the ball will either get jumpy or just skid.

ball layout is as follows

       -
     -----
    p-0-0-
     -----
  o cg-----
     -----
   mb--0--
       -
axis hole only about 1/2 inch stacked levrage ball is good i give it an 8 out of 10 bowler specs on profile

I have posted a review on this ball once before. But here is an update. Last night I shot my highest series ever a 690 with this ball. I couldnt do anything wrong I really like this ball alot. I wouldnt say it has an angular back end but it is a hard turning arc. None the less . The lane conditions were as follows. Iowa womens state Team had just bowled 2 shifts on these lanes .  On none of thier scores were outstanding . Amf synthetics with some carry down and a definate track area. Here are my scores 233,244,213 (with a 179 average)and my friend also shot pretty good with a 692 ( 232,245,214)
This ball is the most forgiving I have ever used and once you got you mark all you gotta do is be somewhat consistant,it is a great ball. I must add that the first 2 weeks I had this ball It was too much hook , the cover must get broken in a bit and then bam .

I bought The One for my wife.  Man, I can't say enough about this ball.  The ball is drilled for max hook and hook it does.  Her highest series ever is 582 and she had 561 right out of the box.  The One just rolls great for her!

Well... I am a somewhat fast (19 mph or so) medium revs kind of player. Got back into bowling last fall after about 10 years off or so. Used to average around 200-215 depending on the house.

I started back up with my out of date "arsenal" of a Purple Buzzsaw, Columbia Power Torq and a Blue Hammer

After Fall and summer leagues, I had a 189 average. It was frustrating - I knew it was a combination of only bowling once a week and having old equipment.

This fall I started off with a hand me down Big Block Diesel and had the average up to 200. I was looking for a little stronger ball in oil and after watching other league bowlers, talking to the pro shop guys here in Las Vegas at K&K I decided to go with The One.

I had the ball drilled up with Drilling #3 from the Ebonite instructions and went with 2000 Abrelon from the start.

First night of league with no practice (I was late) and never throwing the ball before I got the front seven. In the four weeks of league I have shot under 200 once (my fault - didn't swith equipment when the lanes were breaking down and The One was over reacting) and have averaged just over 220.

This is the best ball I have thrown since my Teal Rhino Pro back in the early-mid 90's

pap 5 1/8 r 1/up. drilled this ball over my middle finger (5 1/2) from my pap to go very long and be very angular. i placed the cg in the center of my grip with no side weight. mass bias is at 45 degrees. bowled on the open shot (flat pattern) and it was ripping the rack. this ball creates extreme angles more then my fired up. great ball

Recommended for med-high revs.

So far the ball isn't staying at home, it was drilled with a slight variance of drill pattern #2 because I wanted the ball to pick up sooner. I hit the surface with 2000 abralon right after it was drilled and then went to a practice session, ball fired too quick so then back to the spinner with 4000 abralon. That was the surface that seemed to work for the most part, still fired too quick so a LIGHT bit of polish was put on, now it's good to go on the majority of the PBA patterns except for Shark. Then I can make a small surface adjustment and back to where I need to be.

All in all the ball really rolls nice just hitting the head pin makes things dance, I can really see why TJ carries so well with it. It's very smooth off the spot and will do whatever I want it to do based on my hand position and grip.

went to league and used this ball for the first time ever that night.first game ever bowled with it was a 210.my next games were a crappy 152,then a 171.couldnt wait,to get more games in with this ball so i went this weekend and shot 7 more games with this ball.im impressed!lowest score out of all 7 was a 170,with the highest being a 226.out of all 10 games ive bowled with this ball i have 9 with a 170 or better, including 4 games over 200.my average in league is 167,so i expect it to rise soon.the ball has a very smooth roll and turns quick to the pocket and hits real hard.if i wasnt getting strikes i was getting 9s,almost everytime.u can really get alot of strikes with this ball that arent perfectly thrown to!it hits so hard it scatters pins flying all round everywhere, making a good chance for a strike when it probly shouldnt be one.best pin action ive ever seen in any ball.ive read alot of peaple say they get alot of splits with it,well not the case for me,yeah i had a few but not alot or really even enough to complain about.however i also read a review, someone said it didnt leave the 10 pin much, well most of those 9s i was getting was the 10pin,maybe thats just my luck though?never the less, i really like it so far,and cant wait to get more games in with it,10 not enough.heard this ball gets better with more games,i bet it does, but i will find out!go get one and see what u think of it!great job ebonite!

As many know, I have not been a big Ebonite fan the last 3-4 years. We have been selling this ball pretty steady in the shop, and everybody seems to love this ball. I had to see what all the hype was about. Thanks to Steve Szabina for hooking me up with this ball!

Drilled with the pin over my fingers on the span line, and the MB just right of my thumb hole. The CG was out of line, which it was way positive, so I had to use a medium size hole to get it back to legal, put the hole low, probably around 6" over and 2" down from the center of my span. This layout would also be about 4 1/2 pin to PAP at about 75 degrees.

You need some oil for this monster! Don't let the shiny looks be deceiving. When it goes left, it goes left hard. It responds well to hand position changes. Trying not to catch any to trying to get a handful, it rolls great and hits great. Have had 5 270+ games in the first 20 or 25 games that I have bowled with it, including the front 10 the first game right out of the box. (Switch Grip thumb outer sleeve came unglued at this point and I finished with another ball.) Also, solid 9 spare, weak 10 spare, solid 8 spare, strike out last night in league (2-27-06 Emerald Bowl).

Straight players will get a lot of use out of this ball, just need fresh heads. Tweeners are gonna love this ball too, need some oil. Twisters may not get alot of use out of this ball without a flood, but when they can use it, look out!!! High speed players will like this ball, and I think this ball could be money at Nationals on fresh. We will see, hope this helps ya......

ZEENUT1 Well I finally got that 300 I was looking for after 31 years of bowling and knew it was with the purchase of this ball.Drilled it up like EBONITES n.o.1 drilling.LONG AND STRONG.My comfort zone in bowling is playing deep inside between 3rd and 4th arrow bellying out to about 10 board at 32 feet and angling hard back to the 1-3 pocket.(RIGHT HANDER).This ball is TOTALLY AMAZING at the area it covers on the backend.3 game set 235,300,212.Should have switch to my ELEMENT FIRE last game but was having to much fun.Have recently picked up the BIG ONE for heavier oil at the other house we bowl.I will probably be able to keep my speed more consistant until the oil breaks down for me to go to THE ONE.Will post more later.THANKS EBONITE,MARC MASSEY and all the EBONITE STAFF especially TOMMY JONES for his spectactular year he is having.

Been throwing Morich equipment. Must say this has to be the best ball I have ever purchased. I took the cover down to 1000 and now I can throw on just about anything. It is a very versitile ball. Havent shot under 650 since purchase. Extremely explosive backend ball. I am a tweener with decent ball speed. Can swing this ball or stroke it up the boards. Would recommend this ball to anyone that has a little hand.

I got this ball for my son that bowls for Dutchess Community College in NY.  And - out of the box - I have to say that it made quite an impact - not only on the pins but for my son's game.  Over the course of 9 games in the Regionals he averaged 211, made the all conference team and threw the high series for the second day of competition.  The first day was at White Plains Bowling lanes and the management forgot that they were hosting the Regionals and did not put any shot out that morning.  All that was left was a house shot from the night before for leagues.  Needless to say The One was hard to control on little oil and fried backends.  But my son eeked out a 198 average for 6 games.  The second day was at The Rip Van Winkle lanes in Norwalk Conn.  They were expecting the schools and had a fresh house shot - I think out to 35' - for them.  The One performed unbelieveably.  277 (front 8 and a light 1,2,4 leave - picked up and struck out)- 279 (front 8 again and a stone 9 pin, spared and struck out again - then a 208(he felt the heat of throwing his first 800 and swallowed the apple and finished with a 764. Did I mention DCC won Region XV?

Now to see how The One does at the Thruway Lanes outside of Buffalo for the NJCAA Championships.....and later this month at the IBC qualifer in Allentown, PA.

When there is oil out there The One is THEE BALL to throw.

We had it drilled at Holiday Lanes in Poughkeepsie by GT's Shop.  They did a great job - took the time to watch him throw the ball and drilled accordingly.

I purchased the ball at Bowling.com and got a great ball, pin placement as ordered - excellent ball.

Get One of these balls and you will not be sorry!

When i first got this ball, i hated it and was very close to throwing it out. then i took it to the proshop and sanded it. now i love it. it hooks like crazy and destroys the pins. i have been averaging atleast ten points higher. the only thing that is bad about this ball is you have to clean it every time you use it. i found that out the hard way when after about twenty games i realized that it was turning black. but other than that, this could be the best ball i have ever thrown.

I got a good deal on this ball off of ebay and i have wanted one so i bought it.this ball is awesome and i will never get rid of it. in my last 7 games with it i have shot 300,247,256,200=1003 and 803 for the first 3. then tonight i shot 279,300,237= 816. thats my second 800 and 300 in less then a week. the ball is drilled with the pin next to the ring finger and kicked up about 1/2 and inch. it goes a little longer then flips. this is the best ball i have ever owned and will probably switch to ebonite from now on.

I love this ball I haven't threw it enough to give it a full review but I think this ball is like the Paradigm but even better it's consistent, durable, and outhooks the Paradigm. I have this one drilled drilling #1. One thing you gotta know is that it'll cause over/under because of the polish and it's reactive coverstock but I used to have it 4000 grit abralon polish but didn't hook enough for me so I have it at 2000 grit abralon polish this ball hooks hard and earlier than the 4000 grit abralon. I can set the tempo and create more pin action too I even averaged 190 in my last two games with this ball first 4 games weren't good because of the thumb and I had to position the thumb tape perfectly but the surface of the ball makes the difference in the world to me. Surface makes up 70% of the ball reaction remember that. I'll give it another review after I use this ball enough. Take this ball they're the best selling ball in the bowling market today.
