Introducing THE ONE from Ebonite – the premier release in our new high performance series that pushes the entry angle to the extreme.  Designed for medium to heavy oil patterns, the breakthrough GB-10.7 coverstock absorbs oil like a sponge, giving you more direct contact with the lane surface. As you exit the oil pattern, the cut to the pocket is razor sharp. Once you take it to the hole you’ll realize for yourself, this is THE ONE.

My first time throwing an Ebonite since my Turbo about 13 years ago.  All I can say is WOW!!!!  I started my 4 league season with an xception 5.0, and xception and the Heat.  Boy did I struggle everytime I used one of the xceptions.  Not to knock Track, but those two balls defaniteliy were not for me.  I ended up going to the Heat as my benchmark. The problem is I did not have any ball to cover heavy-medium to heavy, as I thought the xceptions would.  So, I heard so much and saw some good things about The One, I figured what the hell.  Well, my first game I started with a pitiful 190.  I was trying to swing the ball 22 to 8 and it was too jumpy when I had a nice easy release and would go through the break if I put more speed on it.  The second game I moved to 14 to 8 but I thought the ball would snap too early.  To my surprise it did not.  The ball held unbelievably and roared back to the pocket like no ball I have ever thrown.  I had a bad spare night, but went on to shoot 235 and 240 to end the night.  Can't wait to throw again now that I have an idea of what the ball will do.  I have the standard drill on this ball, long and strong, as I believe most players do.  Track may just have lost a loyal customer for the near future.

Was never an Ebonite guy till this year, both my driller and my Dad talked me into this ball, thank God I listened, this ball really matches up well with my game, wich is the key to anyball purchase. I went with drill pattern 2, the pin is under the bridge and the cg is kicked out slightly, with a balnce hole. I am high axis tweener with med ball speed. I left the ball in the oob finish, mostly bowl  on synthetics, with med to heavy oil for league and some decent carry down, we follow a mix league.
When I first threw the ball I thought it was gonna be wash out city, just kept going and then boom energy release and left turn towards the pocket, boom.
This by far was the deepest entry angle I have ever had into the pocket. The carry on this ball for me is off the charts, however you do have to put alot of time into keeping the coverstock clean, but its a good trade off. Wish I would have started the season with this ball, didn't pick it up until Jan.

Ball is drilled 4 1/2 by 5 1/4, I think. Pin below ring, PSA to the right at like 75 degrees, below the thumb and to the right. I really like this ball with the OOB finish. Tried sanded, was ok. Nothing special when sanded, but in OOB it was something very special. Great for me on broken down conditions and fresh shots. Pretty versatile for me. Very strong arc in the backend for me, sometimes is a little jumpy. This ball has got me wanting to try more Ebonite.

Ball: The One
Weight: 15
Top weight: 2 1/2 oz
Pin: 2 inches
Drilled: Drilled pin below ring finger cg kicked out bout 1. Small weight hole needed

Overall
I have not thrown many games with this ball so it might be first impression or what ever, but this ball is sweet. Keeps the pins low and reacts well.

35ft wall shot
I started off were I usually throw my mercury at this house. Standing 25 throwing 7 at the break. The first initial look was it got good length and I thought would hold. I was wrong. It just took a violent snap brooyklin. So obviously I moved left and stood 31 wit the same break point. On the right lane this flushed and I was able to stand there the rest of the night on that lane. On the left lane it was jumping a lot more when I got it to the dry. I continued to move left till I was standing on 37 1/2 and using a similar break point. Used this all night as well. I had a couple practice balls that I tried down the boards and it worked okay its just I have not been able to practice for the past 3 months cause of school, work, etc. So my accuracy has been a little off.

Been throwing Brunswick for the past year. Was looking for a new ball and this ball was recommended to me. I do not have much luck with Ebonite in the past but after reading some very positive review from members here, so decided to get it. And no regrets, this must be the best Ebonite ball I have ever purchased. It is a very versatile ball with extremely explosive backend. I am a power stroker with decent ball speed. I used to stroke it up the boards but found that I get better results by playing this ball on the inner lane. Would recommend this ball to anyone that is looking for a good solid ball.

I had the one drilled 4 1/2 by 3 1/2 by 4 1/2. Pin is above ring and the mass bias  is next to the thumb. No extra hole was needed. Ball was originally 15.3 oz, 4inch pin, and 3 top.

I must say that this ball is simply amazing. I have tried it on everything from light to med-heavy oil. I left the ball in oob condition and it performed well on all conditions. The thing that I love about this ball is that it retains its energy until it crushes the pins. It is very versatile. The backend hook is unbelievable. If you have been thinking about getting this ball.....DO IT!!!

This year is the first time for me owning an Ebonite ball besides the Xxxcel and all that I can say about the One is this: WOW!

I had mine drilled with the pin directly over the ring finger, CG 1" above the grip line and the MB about 3 1/2" right of the thumbhole.  It's in the OOB finish (real shiny), had got it in April and bowled 25-30 games with it; most of them in league and tournament games.

On medium oil, it goes long but kicks into overdrive at the breakpoint and smashes into the pins unforgivenly.  Whether there's carrydown or not on the backends, this ball will deliver you a strike.  I'm normally a stroker and with this ball when the oil is spread long, I play the 11 board (right side) and only let it go about 3-5 boards deep.  It has a very smooth reaction into the pocket and the pins are kept pretty low for pin action.  Sometimes I would leave the 9 pin on these conditions, but nothing to complain about there.

However, same medium oil but shorter pattern, I have to move to about 3 boards right of the middle arrow and play it kind of deep to about the 12 board. The backend reaction is much stronger and sometimes I do have to pick up the ball speed abit.  If my ball speed went down, it tends to slip through the pockets or even go brooklyn. So adjustment is a big thing I found out with this ball. With the shorter length of oil, I noticed that there is alot better pin action but have to put it away once it goes brooklyn more than three times in a single game.

I have to admit that it is one of my good balls in my arsenal. I can also suggest everyone to use Powerhouse Energizer Cleaner and Track Clean 'N Dull to keep this ball in top form.

Lol, MY TURN!

This is a sweet sweet ball. Very strong, but suitable for many conditions.

Mine is stacked with a 4-inch pin next to the ring finger.

Things I liked:
Rolls heavy,
Consistant reaction,
Colors ,
Makes me feel like a better bowler .

Get one!

This ball needs oil. It's the best on oil.
Scored a perfect game with it in april and
almost newer used it since.
I am waiting for the right conditions again.

I have the pin above my fingers with the cg kicked out a little bit. OOB condition this ball hooked about as much as my Ice. I hit it with a red scotch bright pad and then the ball hooked 20 boards more. I couldn't believe how much more the ball hooked when ruffed up a little bit. On a THS i would roll it over 15 at the arrows out to 8 then it would charge back hard. It isn't a snap but a very hard arc. This is the most versatile ball I have ever thrown. It was the only ball I used for a 2 month period, and it paid for itself over and over again many times. This ball responds to have position changes perfectly, which came in very handy while bowling pot games. I would start with my strongest hand position and keep moving left with the oil until I ran into the ball return machine. I don't feel comfortable moving in front of the ball return machine and if I switch balls I will lose 1 or 2 frames, which can mean winning cash and not, so I would use a little less hand. I was impressed with how the ball never lost carry with any of the hand position changes. This is rare for me because I don't turn the ball that much to begin with. I would change hand positions four times throughout the night. By the time I was on my last hand position everybody else was was throwing the ball so hard they were out of their comfort zone.
This is the best ball I have ever thrown. The only down side is that the ball died. I bought this ball in February and by April the ball lost its backend. I tried everything but it still wouldn't hook. I had close to 200 games on the ball when it died. I am not disappointed, the ball paid for itself and many others.
I will definitely try out the rest of the One series.

Pin to PAP Distance: 5 3/4"
Preferred Spin Axis to PAP Distance: 3 3/4"
Balance Hole: None
Surface Preparation: Box Condition

What I Was Looking For in this Ball and Layout:

I wanted to end up with a moderately aggressive ball that would cover some boards, play left to right angles extremely well, and have a quick transition or breakpoint down lane.

What I Ended Up With in this Ball and Layout:

This ball ended up being exactly what I had hoped it would be with regards to front-end skid. The ball clears the front of the lane relatively easy on any medium to higher amount of head oil. Also, the One seems to be good about letting the bowler know when there is not enough head oil to throw the ball. The reaction and shape that I get from this ball when the heads are too dry to throw it is totally different. It's very obvious when to throw the One with regards to head oil.

The breakpoint move that I get is also very typical for me with this layout. By moving the pin into a somewhat weaker position, I've helped the ball get through the front part of the lane easier. By placing the preferred spin axis in a fairly strong position, I still see a strong and sudden move down lane when the ball encounters friction. When given sufficient head oil, the One responds to the end of the lane pattern very quickly and creates large angles into the pin deck for my game.

The overall hook of my One ball is stronger than most balls. In relation to the other balls on this site, the One is considerably stronger than both the Big Time and Overtime reviewed on June 3rd, 2006.  Compared to the Big One (also reviewed on June 3rd), the One is easier to push through the front of the lane but covers a similar number of boards.

Length from 1-10 (Early to Late)
4.0

Breakpoint Move from 1-10 (Smooth to Sharp)
8.0

Overall Hook from 1-10 (Low to High)
8.5

A picture of this ball and the layout can be seen on our website if you are interested.

I've been working with this ball for awhile now trying to figure it out more and I've had some great success of a variety of conditions.

30ft flat pattern:
I started playing this pattern with my Aboslute around 20-10-5 and was having moderate success so I cahnged to my One. Playing the same line the ball was checking up a little bit high. So I moved everything right a acouple boards making the break around 3-2. I was just smashing the pocket and pulled out a nice 225 game. 1103 for the 6 game set. I'm really looking forward to trying this ball out on the JOG short pattern in acouple weeks.

42ft sport shot:
After having a very dismal first week in this league using my AI. I decided to use my One instead and see what kind of look it gave me. In practice it was looking very well as well it did in the begining of the first game. Ended up with a 189. Moved outside just a tad and pulled out a nice 205 the second game. So I'm also liking the look that this ball gives me on longer patterns. I've yet to bowl on a medium sport pattern with this ball enough to give any type of feedback. But so far with the reaction it gives me on short and long patterns, I think it will be a very good one.

THS:
I can really open up the lanes with this ball on normal THS patterns. It creates a ton of area on the lanes and hit when it gets to the pocket. I normally go to this ball when the lanes get tighter.

Great buy!

This is one flippy predictable monster here. PAP 5" over 1/4"up. This is one gorgeous ball by the way. Drilled this one 5 x 4 with a small hole on my PAP. WOW. This ball absolutely crushed this 40' wall. 835 out of the gate, couldn't miss. I was mostly impressed with this balls predictability and ball motion. This has to be one of the best Ebonite balls ever produced. A big shout out to Ron Hickland Jr for this one. This is a very clean ball through the heads good midlane and the ball motion at the breakpoint was ridiculous. The first ball out of the bag. Best ball motion I've seen in years. Bowl to win.
