I have not rolled this ball but bowled against 3 of them last night.
fro what i saw is an awesome ball but needs oil and is you get soft
with your speed ball will def cross over. I was thinking of getting 1
but dont need that much hook for my house shot.
my storm stuff hooks enough with my higher ball speeds

Is a bigger and better version of The One. New technology in KY has increased ball technology to a premium, producing one of the best polished balls on the market.

My Total NV has a 5x3 with a 45 degree MB. Because my axis point is 2 7/8 over and 1 3/4 up, the pin and cg are located on the left side of grip midline. This ball rolls extremely well on a variety of sport conditions and of course house patterns.

Just got mine today and wow. Shot 233 with it out of the box going down and in. Moved and played out and in and shot 222. Just played around to see where else i could play after that. Rolled to the pocket very nice and smooth. Carried very well for me. Couldn't get soft with it, or it would break like a mother and go Brooklyn. Hope i can use at the Pepsi State Championship.

Update: April 1, 2007
Went up to practice and shot 193, 235, 223, 226, 234,300. It was my first 300, so i got just a little excited. I ended the six games with a 235 average.
This ball hits like a freakin truck, and kicks out those ten pins.

All i can say is buy the Total NV. There is no other ball to use.

Had my TNV about a month. I like the ball, but dont have any great reviews. Carries light hit very good, but leaves to many 9 pins. Also will leave some 10 pins on a good shot, but I believe thats because of the polish. I like my C300 Action much better. I average 198, 210, 207 in my three leagues. A couple of other guys are having nothing but total success with the TNV in my leagues.

after one day of practice ball seems to be pretty versatile...able to go up boards(10-5) behind ball with soft hand and carry is awesome..went further right(7-3) with same result..nice reaction...moved in(20-10) and ball had nice arc...i didn't have alot of room for error with release or speed in here though but if i threw a good shot i struck...seem like i had more room with more speed to the right than in middle of lane..ball seems alot like my toxic(similar drill),, except my toxic is earlier and able to play middle with better reaction..this is my early review, i will update later this week..

after first night with it in league..lets just say awesome...705 first set and 804 late set..again i will say this is a versatile ball, easily adjusts to different releases with out losing angle or carry..gotta love it...

I have to say that this is the most versatile ball Ebonite has produced since the V2 Sanded..Multiple players with multiple angles can hit the pocket with an extremely high carry percentage...

Pin above and right of ring, cg toward grip, box finish

Excellent hit/carry

Cons: A bit too long & strong in some cases
Condition specific
Not very forgiving

Overall: For me, the Total NV is good but not revolutionary. I find this ball works best in tandem with my Black Widow. When there is free hook to the outside, the Total NV is the way to go. Compared to the Widow, it pushes about 2-3 feet further down the lane and delivers a sharper move to the hole. That is great until the oil begins to push; the the steep angle equals 10-pin city for me.

I think this ball will work very well from deep inside when you need quick recovery, but I wouldn't be able to use mine on anything that's tighter. I simply don't think it offers the predictability or forgiveness to make it viable in such situations.

So, overall, if you like to hook the ball and are looking for something that will allow you to do that quite easily on most conditions you'll face, grab the Total NV and have some fun. However, if you're a tournament player that relies upon consistent reaction from shot to shot, be very careful of your drilling selection and coverstock prep. You'll need to be in order to keep this beast in control and in the pocket.

drilling: ebonites drilling #1...

I got this ball for one reason, I wanted a ball with finishing power, I got exactly what i wanted so far, I threw this ball lastnight for the first time, typical house shot 39 feet, dry outside 6 boards...I will say that if you are a cranker like me, you might as well start your night playing 3,4 arrow and swinging the you know what out of the ball, but the performance of this ball is something I have never seen besides out of my domination. The difference between this ball and other balls designed to do this is that this ball actually finishes strong, other balls you play to far inside and the ball burns up all its energy. This ball stores it and unleashes it, and the last thing I will say about this ball is it leaves a little more room for mistakes...

10 being good, 1 being bad....

Got my Total NV last night. Picked up this ball to finish off pins. I come from a 5 pin background and have a very accurate release never miss my mark by more then 2/3 boards, but my old ball (Tropical Storm) wouldn't finish off the pins for me. I had the ball drilled to go long then strong into the pocket. Found I had to move feet 5 boards left (right handed) and hit the 7 board for a PERFECT strike. What I love about the ball is that unlike my Tropical Storm I can miss my mark by a few boards and it will forgive me. I can go outside to the 2/3 and it will snap back in the end. Or play it in the 10 board and it will stay strong to the pocket. The ball itself shreds the rack when it hits I was in total shock. I am used to hitting the pocket on 95% of my shots but only striking on 50% of those. The Tropical Storm just didn't have enough to make it through the pocket to carry 10. With the Total NV my strike percentage went up to atleast 75%. In 4 games thrown on the ball my low game is 227 with a couple 279s. If these games were "No Tap" games I would be sitting on 3 out of 4 perfect games. This ball is totally AWESOME. WELL WORTH THE MONEY ON THIS ONE. 10 out of 10 for me.

First off I do not want anyone to get me wrong I am and will always be a die hard FOS member and totally love my Lane1s but from the moment I seen the TNV rolled by a few other people I had to try one of these balls out and I am going to say there is no regrets in this.

I had the oprotunity to purchase a used one of the TNVs from hawkeye4life and it just happened to have the exact layout I wanted Pin above the bridge and the Cg and Mas bias swung right mas bias is only about 1-1 1/2 inches right of thumb all I had to do because the span was so close to mine, was to have a new thumb slug and grips put in as it had no grips tried throwing with no grips and just could not get used to it so I had grips installed also.

About me I am Right handed
Ball Speed- 15.6- 18 miles per hr
Rev Rate - 400-450
Axis Tilt - 45 Degrees

Threw in practice today after my daughters league ended but I got a pair that no one had been on because the two teams did not show up to bowl that was supposed to be there so it was a fresh shot.
The thing that attracted me to the TNV when watching everyone that had one throw them was the consistancy everyone of them rolled with, and the one I picked up did not disappoint me this ball is probably the most consistant rolling ball I have ever used It is so consistant that it almost lulls you into a mode of you can not miss as long as your release is the same or close this ball does the same thing every time you throw it I shot six games with it started out the first game just trying to get aquainted with the reaction of it shot a 193 for me I do not even really look at my scores for the first game or two when I am practicing #2 shot a 203 the next four games I settled in as I got comfortable with the reaction of the TNV I shot games of 233,219,207, and 200

Like I said at the beginning of this post I will always be a Sawhead but I will tell you if I could no longer get anymore Lane1s I would most defanetly start throwing some Ebonite stuff if they are as Consistant as this one but I have never been an ebonite fan until the Total NV I like this ball so much that I intend on taking my cut of league winnings and getting another one NIB before they discontinue them

this ball is becoming one of my favorite balls. i've had about 50 games with it and it still hooks the boards. i used the #3 drilling, early and strong and it is. it has a nice roll and is very strong in the back end. i used this yesterday on the shark pattern for league and it just dominated the lanes, 226 249 then a dissapointing 206. but a 681 is a pretty good series on the hardest named pattern on the PBA. this ball has excillent length and recovery pic in profile. i have used this ball on fresh 40ft., 37ft. house patterns the nationals shot and the shark pattern, i have the best look on the longer ones with my medium-high rev rate and 14-15 mph speed, i have a very high track also. this is a very good ball

I have had my TNV for about 3 months. The ball and cover are very versitile to adjustments. The ball handles speed and hand changes extremely well. Mine is drilled similar to the #2 pattern with 65 degree mb. This is my favorite ball and sometimes I try to force it into situations that I shouldn't. It still works. I did not throw an oob 300 but have had many 225+ games and a 686 series during the last month of league play. My average with this ball is probaly 215. My average was 205 and climbing, towards the end of the year, with my V2 pearl(s) and sanded.I have thrown it with success on the Viper and Chameleon PBA Exp patterns. I have seen this ball thrown by many different styles of bowlers and various cover adjustments with success.

I have not used much Ebonite equipment since my old Vortex II Pearl I liked so much years ago. I have been using lots of MoRich recently with success, but a shoulder injury has helped me develop bad habits and my 2005-06 book avg of 205 was just replaced by a 188 closing average this year. I recently found a used Total NV with my span, put my thumb insert in it, and at first found it to be LOTS of ball with my speed lowered due to shoulder problems. I moved inside my normal starting position by 4 boards and tried to keep the speed up... and WOW... what a beautiful finish at the pin deck. I struggled this season to get a 600 series until 3 weeks ago when I got the NV. Since then, I have bowled a 654, 880, and 729 last night for my first 700+ since the 05-06 season. Needless to say I am more than a bit pleased. My confidence is returning and I am able to work less and get more done with this ball... a good thing since I still have a tender shoulder.

I did find I needed to belly the ball when the heads started to dry out or it would read too early. As long as I did not HIT the ball too hard, it saved energy and had a terrifically consistent and strong back end. I missed WAY right on 2 shots and it came back from right field! I missed one inside and it rode the oil line and hit the pocket so hard that it sounded like an explosion (although it did leave the 4-pin)

I have decided to just BOWL and if I get hurt, I'll STOP for the evening. I am real tired of bowling "scared of getting hurt" and the NV actually helped me with my confidence to the point that my slump may be a thing of the past.

Update on the NV.

Bowled in the New Jersey state tournament yesterday at Warren Lanes, Phillipsburg. Old, beaten up wood lanes, with a heavily oiled house shot -- nothing fancy.

My TNV is drilled to go long and snap.

I did the team event with a Black Widow, because of nothing particular - just that it seemed that be better in practice vs. the balls I brought, but then, it became sort of a train wreck. No recovery, but then lots of movement inside when I didn't need it. Fine. Low 500. Classic over and under.

Reoiling. Doubles and singles. The Total NV opened up the lanes, completely. I shot 268 208 220, and then 256 228 235. It was like operating a piece of dangerous drilling equipment. I am a stroker with medium speed, and people watching me shrugged (after they did low 500s), saying the ball should be illegal.

Like Nike says..."Just do it."

Ebonite should say, for the TNV..."Just buy it."
