Well the V2 Dry was a niche ball for some on drier lanes and those who had very soft speed and or little hand. Those who had trouble with it wanted more recovery with the length. YOU GOT YOUR WISH with the V2 Clean.  The V2 Clean is a great compliment to the V2 sanded (polished), its several feet later and still has the control and predictability the Vortex name is known for. For those who "Get On It" this ball will make a strong move similar to the Killer Instinct Pearl reaction, but with a cleaner reaction up front. This makes it a great step down from the Killer Instinct Pearl.

  The V2 Clean was drilled with the pin at 4 3/4 inches, mass bias in strong position, and no balance hole. The starting pin was 3 inches out and starting top weight was 3 ounces.  The surface was used in box condition.  The conditions bowled on so far include, 38 ft pattern on choppy wood with a wall, 36ft second shift wall on proanvillane, 36 ft medium load sport pattern on proanvilane, and 39 ft medium volume sport pattern on proanvilane.

  The V2 Clean on the wood surface allows me to play aggressively at the infamous 10 board oil line which I rarely get to play with any newer pieces.  The ball holds the line deep down the lane and rolls strong but predictable allowing me to play the tight line.  Normally one would have to use piece with an old shell or weaker core to achieve the length and this prevents the ball from hitting well, the V2 Clean solves this issue.

  The V2 Clean on the proanvilane allowed for various looks depending on the amount of breakdown.  On the 36 ft patterns the V2 Clean had enough guts to turn the corner from inside angle where the Killer Instinct Pearl had worked earlier.  On the 39 ft sport pattern the V2 Clean was the next ball choice down from the Killer Instinct Pearl from the outside angle.  In each situation the V2 Clean provided a controlled rolling look. And when I got on it from inside the track it made a flippy move.

  For those who were fans of the Nitro R/2 and anyone who likes the Vortex 2's this ball is a MUST BUY. If you have a V2 polished up and it starts to roll up a bit early and kinda go flat on the backend, the V2 Clean is calling your name.

I was able to throw this ball at the Ebonite Demo Day here in Brookpark, Ohio back in the middle of December. You can check my profile for my specs, but just know that I have good speed and a lot of hand.

All of the balls at Demo Day were drilled with the pin under the ring finger and the cg stacked below.

My first impression of the V2 Clean was that it is a tremendous ball. I got to throw this ball on 2 lanes with different volumes of oil. One lane was oiled heavily in the middle, with some dry bump outside of 5, and not much dry on the backend. The other lane was pretty much burnt up from earlier play on it.

On the oil lane, it would not turn up in the oil that much, but if I was straight enough through the heads with it, even in the oil, it would hit exceptionally well. Also, I was able to swing the V2 Clean from the oil to the dry bump, and snap it back to the hole with similarly fantastic results. So far, so great.

To make it even better, the V2 Clean was also tremendous on the burnt lane. As long as I was deep, and not projecting straight through the heads, but going left to right, I had great skid through the heads, rounding turn at the corner, and continuous sharp arc on the backend, with, once again, awesome hit.

Of all the balls I tested at Demo Day, I was most impressed by this ball. The versatility of this ball was amazing for me. I think the polished solid as opposed to a pearl cover make a large difference in this ball. It doesn't have over/under problems or too sharp breakpoints. It just could find a line on any condition for me. The straighter players tended to find this ball on the lower side of total hook, and could only use it on drier stuff. However, this ball is a crankers DREAM. Hook potential is medium, length is good (not VERY long), corner is round, backend is sharp arc (not snap), hit is tremendous. I have one being drilled now, and I am dying to get it. Great ball.

This ball is very well named.  The V2 clean certainly gets through the front part of the lanes very clean and is stronger than the V2 dry.  A very great choice of equipment for medium to average lane conditions and most house shots.  Any drilling can be used on this ball.  Another great intro to the V2 line- have fun with it.

I drilled my V2 Clean 5" pin 3 3/4" above grip midline (over fingers), and cg kicked 2" right of grip centerline with a small weight hole on val 1" below pap.
For a long oily wall this ball went to long in the oil and unloaded all at once on the dry. On our sport condition 38' (it has a very short buffout and bad surface) it jerked to hard after leaving the pattern. The V2 Clean saves most everything for the friction. A stronger pin placement would have been better for these two conditions, but this layout works great on PBA patterns A and C. They (PBA A&C) have longer buffouts.
When I sanded my V2 Clean with a 4000 Abralon pad my reaction on the wall and the sport condition was much better. The total hook was not a great deal more, but the read from the oil to the dry was smoother therefore more controllable.
The V2 Clean is a great buy for anyone looking to control medium to dry conditions

BOWL TO WIN

I punched it up about two weeks ago. Finally have a track in it and feel I have bowled enough games with it to give a decent review. For my specs, check my profile.

16# drilled pin over ring, CG kicked out aabout 1/4 to the right.

I bought it specifically for a house with little oil in the fronts and a bad reverse block. Been playing deep with it, standing 30, targeting 20, out to about 10-11. I couldn't be happier playing that line. When I played it in the track area (8-10, down and in) it was a little squirrely. As previously stated, this ball is definitely made for light to medium conditions. If you have screaming back ends, with head oil, I think this ball made be too jumpy. It clears the heads and gets down the lane with ease, it reads very consistently for me in midlane, and has a menacing back end. Don't be mistaken, this ball does not have a weak move to the pocket. The drilling I have in  it emphasizes it, but it still has a STRONG move to the pocket. I have yet to own a ball that stores energy as well as this one. Obviously, with the previuous stated, hit and carry is not a problem.

Beware though, any more oil than a medium and this ball just keeps going....

Overall, this ball is fast becoming one of my favorites....

have had my V2 for a couple of weeks now and when i first drilled this ball up i thought it was going to be a big turd....hook once, then slide the next no clue what to do......almost got rid of it and then something clicked and now this ball is an absolute dream number one go to ball.....nice and smooth works well....let me know what ya think everyone else.

pin out 5" CG 2.5" below ring Pin 3.5" right and slightly above ring. I've been using this ball more and more since I got it. Like I said earlier, goes veryyy long for me. Threw my Strong in practice last week, then switched to the Clean for regulation and shot 669
