V2 Power and the One
« on: January 17, 2006, 04:52:05 AM »
I'm looking for a ball with similar strength than the V2 Power but with a little more length.  Will the One fit the bill as a good medium condition ball?  I am a stroker with medium speed and I like to play in the track area, and can swing the ball a bit when necessary, though I prefer to play it straighter down the boards.  The V2 Power has been great for the fresh shot, but loses pop a bit when the lanes dry out more towards a medium pattern. Has anyone here thrown both?

I recently went from the V2 Power to The One. The V2 Power is easier to control but it doesn't hit nearly as hard as The One. I also basically play straight up, when the lanes dry up The One is very hard to control. I would say it definately needs some oil. I mistakenly got rid of my V2 Power and now I only have The One but I like it. The One definately has a bigger upside than the V2 Power but they are both solid balls.

Hitting power is about how much energy the ball has conserved for backend reaction and hit.  If a ball rolls up too early, it wastes its' energy in the heads and therefore has nothing for the backend, so we say it pukes and hits like crap.  If there is plenty of head oil where the ball is not wasting the energy up front, it releases the energy on the backend making a stronger move and stronger hit at the pins.  Simple as that.
