Like many strong asyms, the one can be drilled to snap hard. Is this a reaction that is needed in an arsenal? Yes. Is this a reaction that is often utalized on conditions that don't call for it? Also yes. The ball, on situations where the backends are fresh can have an uncontrollable snap. On conditions with too much carry down, the ball can skate. oob, I like the ball on an inbetween condition, a little carrydown to keep the backend under controll, but not too much to where the ball pushes too far down lane.
This would lead one to believe that oob the ball is very condition specific. To an extent it is, but with proper lane adjustments you can usually find an area to play to the ball's strengths. When doing this the ball gives you well above average hit and a truly great reaction. This is where the ball gained its popularity, on the house shot. The measure of a ball on ths is hitting power, never mind getting to the pocket, that is the easy part, carrying every shot you deserve and a few you don't is what this ball gives you. Then for those wanting to venture out to harder shots, sport shots even, the ball can be dulled and made predictable, but it maintains its awesome hit. For those that bowl on a tough house shot or sport shot, plan on making surface adjustments, the ball will, oob, magnify operator error and can be difficult to use on harder shots.
