I would suggest a couple of balls that are not out yet, with very little info on how they work and respond.

.....Sarcasm off :/

I was thinking the same thing honestly.  I have'nt even seen what the cores look like on the Boom and Smash but its being recommened.  I don't understand that at all.  On topic, go with a pin slasher and something weaker than the magic like a clash/bash or if these new mid price balls are any good, one of those

Gamebreaker, if you can get your hands on one.....and a blue and green Clash, one of the most underrated balls out.

It depends on what your looking for in regards to "around" the magic.  If its as simple as something stronger and weaker go with a cell or rogue cell and a one pearl or hot sauce.  If your looking strictly for good compliments such as a bit smoother and a bit more angular go gamebreak and one pearl.

The problem is if you stay strictly ebonite, they are clearly fully revamping their line-ups and just don't have anything stronger than the magic right now.  You could also wait for all the new stuff to come out and wait for reviews and opinions after people have gotten a chance to throw them.

I drilled one of each of all the new balls minus the evolve. I am going to throw them tonight so I will let you know how they work compared to the current or last lines.

I prefer the one pearl over the playmaker.  For me, the one pearl hooks a touch more and has more backend, while the playmaker had more midlane and smoother breakpoint.

Sarcasm in every way.  People always are recommending balls that are not out yet as balls to get, when we just do not know if they will fit yet

Ever think that maybe some of the people suggesting the new stuff are staff members who have a little more access to tech docs than the rest of us?
