Smash Time Pearl
« on: December 05, 2006, 02:06:50 PM »
Let me start... basic 5 X 5.5 drill...All I can say is WOW. This one really compliments the Angular One. I was very surprise at how it read the wet drive but had better than average carry. Typically house shot tonight and tried 4 different lines. The carry was good but I was off a tad in pushaway..(rushing)

Upon further testing will give more...

I just drilled mine today as well.  Really awesome reaction.  Pictures and videos to come next week once I return from my 5-Day Pro Shop Training Course here in Tennessee.  Keep watching for the news!

alright...
tonight went over to another has the has pro anvilane and short pattern.. half the league plays after a early. I caught a pair where everyone was throwing plastic or urethane down 10. I started with RXS300 and played tight the carry wasn't there.. When I moved to the Sm pearl it was drastic and fun..went 255 with open and it was great. The SMP was steady , smooth and recovered hard and fast. The thing about it was that I was able to control the wet/dry and carry down....

curious how this one compares to the action packed....
similar stats as far as core and cover.

while the numbers are similar, shape and densities of the two cores are different, so putting holes that touch the core in either ball will alter it's overall reaction when compared to the other.

And as far as comparing coverstocks between two different companies?  Apples and oranges...

I have my first SmashTime Pearl drilled now.  The reaction is very surprising and awfully good.  Great length with more mid-lane read than you would think for a pearlized ball.  Ball Review, Pictures and hopefully a video to come this week!

Jeff,

How does the Smash Time pearl compare to the RXS300?  Any details you can give us before the videos are made?  Thanks.

Man, if the backend roll on this thing is anything like the smashtime solid, and accounting for the extra length of the pearl cover, this thing should be a total MONSTER!

I don't think I have ever had a ball roll so hard through the rack as the smashtime does.  I have been needing more length though.  Had to quit using the solid cause it rolled out too soon on out house shot.  Maybe there is hope afterall!
