5-7-10 ! ! !

Hello Everybody,

I just wanted to know if any of you ever left with a 5-7-10 after hitting the pocket. I had this last night.

I sometimes see it with a female bowler in my league team. She throws 12lbs., slowly. This results in a lack of hitting power and drive of the ball, especially when the lane dries up. The light and "dead" ball deflects and does not take out the 5, and other pins like the 4 and 6 fall sideways and "around" the corner pins which might even shake but not fall. I have seen her leave a 5-7-10 (called a "lily", as far as I know?) on solid pocket hits a few times.
More speed and/or a heavier ball would help, but she won't change her game...

I personally bowl with a 15lb Ebonite Urethane (Super Solar, yes I know it is too old!) and my speed is around 16MPH with average revs. I bowl for 2 years now and I have never left with anything like that before.

happened to me about 2 years ago on a decent shot too...using a vicious particle

that ball either carried the house (on the right condition) or hit like a big green and yellow turd...

Left one 10 days ago.  Ball felt good off my hand, looked good, 7 in the pit.  In 40 odd years of bowling I think this was the first lilly I've ever left.  I've no idea why I left it.

i left one throwing a 16 lb. detour, hit the pocket had 5 in a row and it was the last shot in the 10th and i left it needless to say people laughed alot

I don't ever remember leaving that, but I did leave a 4-7-9-10 on Tuesday.  Missed 'em all.  It was a high shot, not the best by a long shot.  I'll believe a 9-pin or a 4-pin, even the 4-9.  But where the hell did the 7 and the 10 come from?

As if that wasn't disappointing enough, one of our opponents last night left it and picked it up.  Slid the 4 into the 9, then it rolled into the 10.

When I threw 13lbs I did leave it not once but twice.  To make it even worse...it was two shots in a row.  Needless to say, for the rest of the league time I was known as the "sour apple"

What ticked me off about them was that they were dead flush pocket shots.  I thought it was great off my hand.  But the combination of a lighter ball, and a house notorious for mis-racked corner pins...it was destined to happen.

I also have left the 1-7-10 once.  I did manage to pick that up though.

I almost left one on Monday, while playing deep inside.  After the initial hit, the 4-5-7 and 10 were all standing, but something tripped out the ten.  Talk about hitting like a powder puff.

But I left and made the 7-10 later on (first time ever), so there was some mild consolation.

2004 at the SALEM BR gathering .. think I left it about 5 times (bowled a lot of games). Don't think I left it before or after THEN!
