What Ebonite told me about their NEW colored TORNADO's
« on: January 22, 2005, 05:08:37 PM »
When I asked them if any of the NEW colored Tornado's were Pearlized, they said:

"The pearlization process concerns the finishing preparation to the equipment and the final polish chosen.  The combo color coverstocks would all be pearlized since they are brought to market shiny.  Whether the polish on the surface matches the shininess of the old Red/Silver from last year, would be the only difference."

Ohh what in the world is this suppose to mean?!?!?!

That just adding polish to a ball makes it pearlized? That's what I'm taking from this response above. A ball has to be made with Pearlization compounded in it... but it sounds as though Ebonite is saying that when they put polish on a ball, that it makes it pearlized.

In my time with trying to understand bowling balls and all that I have read and learned, that is NOT the pearlization process. If that remains true, then that someone was either jerking your chain, having fun at your expense or just didn't know and didn't want to be bothered. That person should not be on the Ebonite help line.

I've got the name of the person on my e-mail by I don't want to ruin the guy's reputation.

Yeah, if that's the pearlization process then I guess for everybody that wants a D/T Thing Lives in a Pearl version... just polish it and there you go -- a Thing Lives Pearl!

Well, it COULD explain why ebo lists the differences in their balls as "sanded" and "pearl".............Actually that would explain a lot.

Well the Game Time has the Pearl Low Load Big Bang cover and that ball is sanded from the box. Same thing with the TPC Player the spec sheet says Trimax Pearl and the ball is sanded from the box.

I'm guessing the person who responded wanted to give you an easy answer allthough it wasn't quite right.
