Striking Motion or NVD
« on: December 07, 2008, 12:17:06 PM »
My brother won any current Ebonite bowling ball this weekend and wants to know which is a better fit to go with the bowling balls he has now, the Striking Motion or the NVD?

Currently he has a Gamebreaker, Ultra Zone and a pearl Black Widow.  It might be a replacement for the Gamebreaker as the first ball out of his bag or ba or stronger then the Ultra Zone and the Gamebreaker..

Thanks,

guess not, well i have and here goes a real look at all 4 of these pieces.

gamebreaker - ball was amazing out of box, i altered the shell and ball was pretty much a boat anchor.  unless you are bowling on some burnt up lanes or a short flat shot, its very conditions sensative.

pin slasher-  only my 2nd week with the ball and its STRONG.  i know we're talking about the same core here, but the cover is a monster, almost as strong as my angular one (same cover as PS).  i have mine pin below fingers (~4 5/8 from PAP).  there has to be oil or the ball burns up.  shell surface was box with a little FF polish.

NVD - had a record night with it first night, almost out of box, 1000 polish was surface i had on it.  the ball was so strong and continuous.  i bet it would be a great piece on heavier oil, but i dont see that too often so i sold it.  i have another ball i like better with similar characteristics.

SM - ive only had it for a week.  threw it 1st game during thrs night league and it was just strong.  i could lay off it and still confident it was recovering playing 15 board.  i could go to my 'a' game and cover 17 to 5 with a ton of recovery.  and i tried even deeper and it was still recovering.  its a good ball.

to the orig poster, get a pin slasher and call it a day.  its one of the best balls i've drilled in awhile.

Thank you for the replies.  My brother did get a NVD but I think I'm going to order me a Pin Slasher.
