How does this pin and top sound on a TNV?
« on: April 17, 2007, 05:02:48 PM »
I want to get a TNV and was wondering what the ball will be like with a 1-2 PIN 2 3/4 TOP? Also, I am a mid rev guy, and about 16mph I throw it.

That pin position could limit you on layouts. If you plan on placing the pin in a position above your finger line then that pin distance could be too short.

Ok, so you're telling me that it's not too good of a pin?

2-3 gives you far more options...particularly if it is closer to 3.

I'll probably just get it drilled like me Black Widow, with the pin above the fingers.

If it does hook sooner, I'll definately get around a 3 pin. I like balls with a more backend reaction.

Pin length does not change the reaction. The pin location and the MB location do. They control the ball reaction, the reason saying the pin length will change reaction is due to layout problems.

As already mentioned a 2-3" is good pick, a dead on 3" is godly in options. Typically I order shorter pin length balls if I want a pin under drilling (early reaction) and if I want more of a snap and backend I go with something longer, more like a 4" and get it above the fingers.
