What's the proper way to restore the Mission's OOB finish?
« on: March 03, 2010, 08:23:21 AM »
Mission Box Finish:  500, 1000, 2000 Abralon Sanded

I was thinking this:

-Wet 500 Abralon pad cross hatch for 60 seconds on each of the four sides with good pressure to thoroughly cut/scar the surface.

-Wet 1000 Abralon pad cross hatch for 15 seconds on each of the four sides with light pressure.

-Wet 2000 Abralon pad cross hatch for 15 seconds on each of the four sides with light pressure.

Is this a good method?

Per Ebonite''s seminar,  500 abralon each side for 43 seconds, 1000 abralon each side for 43 seconds, and 2000 abralon each side for 43 seconds.  All process done wet with little pressure.  They did say you don''t have to have a stop watch timing it!!  I didn''t make this up and it''s not a joke either.  Well, they did snicker when they said you don''t need to have a stop watch to time it exactly.

Thanks.  I resurfaced my Mission (that has roughly 30 games on it) per the instructions posted by Track_Fanatic but the ball still appears to have more of a shine than my other NIB Missions that I have here.  I was hoping after I cleaned and resurfaced it, the lane shine would go away...Oh well.

I polished mine and didn't like it, so my pro-shop guy did 500 and 1000 each for 15 seconds on 4 sides.  Then 2000 on 4 sides for 30 seconds each side.  Came out exactly like the one on his wall, and reacts just like the first throw.  The abralon pads were SOAKING wet, and he kept a spray bottle near.

Hope this helps.
