Replacement time
« on: August 10, 2008, 02:50:00 AM »
Time to replace an old piece. First the stats.

Stroker
medium revs
16.5 avg speed
200 avg

Current line up

Cell
Gamebraker
Domination
Playmaker
Plastic

Never loved the gambreaker odd I know. Anyway its time to replace the old domination. I've been thinking about the complete or the NVD, or hell maybe the One remake.

Since I dont use the gamebreaker it needs to slug in nicely between the cell and the Playmaker.

Open to any all thoughts.

Peace

T

NVD will be too much ball for that spot, it would be a heavy oil ball like the Cell. One Re-Make could be a great choice for that spot, unless you want another ball that is polished. You could also go with a Roto Grand Illusion since you want something to fit between the Cell and Playmaker.

The COmplete NV seems the perfect fit.

The NVD is more in the range of the Cell, in general.

The One would handle more oil than the Domination, but not as much as the Cell. So it would probably be too far from the Playmaker and too close to the Cell.

I think the Complete fits that spot very well.

I was leaning towards the Complete. Just worried it will be to close if not the same as the Playmaker in its ability to handle oil. I know Ebonite says it can handle more then Medium but I'm not sure I buy it.

I have punched up 3 Complete NV's and they handle med-heavy conditions very well in the box finish. I have even taken one down to 1000 grit and it handled the shark pattern very nicely for me. I have 2 Plamakers as well and that ball is good on med-light for me. I can get it to work on a heavier medium pattern but my carry suffers so I go with the Complete NV when the Playmaker isent enough. So I think the Complete NV would be the best choice for that spot.

I'd go with the Complete.  I had the Donimation and loved the ball.  For me it was very angular and worked well from a variety of angles.  The Complete, I'd say would be slightly stronger than the Domination and the strength would be at each part of the reaction.  It should have a bit more midlane and a bit more of a response off the dry.

The NVD sounds like its gonna be pretty rolly, especially compared to the Domination, and the One remake should be closer, but also a bit rollier.  You may want to give the Black Widow Venom a look though.  It should be more angular than the Complete oob, but if you add surface to it, it should be able to handle some oil.

The Complete NV should fit nicely between your Cell and Playmaker. If you find its closer to the Playmaker than you like, just adjust the cover. 2000 grit sanded seems to be money around here.
