No Limit
« on: November 30, 2006, 03:24:39 PM »
question about the no limit ball. i just got the ball today and bowled a few games with it. i think the ball out of the box is too smooth i think i'm throwing the ball to much force and not giving it time to hook in. is it possible to sand it down a bit? if so what grit is good? can i do this my self or do i need a proshop to do it for me.?

interesting i heard that the less glossy balls have less slide than the glossy. my friend got the no mercy and it has the dull finish which has better roll. i'm confused now. i want it to be more glossy or less.

i might have gotten too light of a ball i'm throwing it too fall down the lane and the reaction is too late. i got 14lb ball. i guess i need to control my speed and try to launch it down the lane i was hoping to get a better reaction if i sand it. one question for the thumb hole is it supposed to be tight because when he drilled it was like a perfect fit and that its my release.  it slides in out but after 3 games the thumb got bigger or my release was wrong and it kept getting stuck inside the ball. is the thumb hole supposed to a littler bigger because the thumb get bigger after a few games or is it supposed to be snug and its my release. in the begining he said it was my release and the hole was perfect.

My wife has a No Limit. She had a problem with the surface as well. I knocked the polish off it, took it to 2000, no polish and now she loved the ball for the second or third game. A lot will depend on the amount of oil you have.

As for the thumb, sounds to me that it's a good fit until your thumb starts to swell a bit. You might think of taking the thumb a bit larger, first game or so, using a bit of tape, then as it swells take out the tape. Hard to say without seeing it, but that's an option you have, talk to your driller.

kinda want to remove the polish did you do it yourself or bring it to the proshop to do it for you.? bowled again with the ball last night wasn't too bad. i think it was my grip, i kinda got the release going smooother this time. but if i try to crank the ball it still get stuck. might give it a try again and see how it goes. my friend gave me some bowlers tape to try to tape up the thumb. once i taped it my thumb won't fit. too snug of it i guess.is it supposed to be bigger? or does the guy have to drill it to composite for tape or something like the thumbsaver i was tinking of getting.
