Angular one good so far.
« on: December 04, 2006, 06:09:39 AM »
I have not used my angular one on any tough patterns yet.  That will come this next Sunday.  However on a fresh house shot this ball performs great.  It basically kills a fresh house shot.  Once the oil starts to break down and dry up this ball needs to be put back into the bag.

The Angular one has good length and a huge back end move.  It hits pretty hard and carry's good.  I like it so far.

I give this ball a big thumbs up on house patterns.

I will revisit this post after I try it out on a tough pattern.

My ANGULAR ONE is drilled with the pin above the bridge, 5.5" from pap and MB 1 1/2" right of my thumb in the strong position.  No balance hole was needed and the CG is kicked to 1oz side.

chi,

How does it compare to your Black Widow?  Do you have any of The One series...comparison?  Laid out near the same?

I preferred the Angular one to the one as with a stronger release the One was too much ball for many of ht ehouse conditions. However, they were both easily tamed with adjustments in fundemental starting points and hit positions. The Angular One makes a smooth and very controlled movement but adds the power of a left turn when needed.   My Black Widow (polished) goes longer and is tamer through the turn but carrys very similar.

More like Great Ball.

I've shot my two highest sanctioned series with this ball so far.

Enough said.

Just make sure you are cleaning your Angular One (and all of your bowling equipment for that matter) with Ebonite Energizer cleaner after every bowling outing.  My Angular One's both have well over 100 games each on them, and mine still react like brand new due to good maintenance.

Congrats on your nice purchase!

I'm not familiar with that product, but I wouldn't think that you would want to "dull" the surface of the Angular One, particularly if you're happy with the current reaction.  I'd recommend picking up a bottle of Ebonite Powerhouse Energizer cleaner.

The track clean n dull is the same as the degree clean and dull. Is merely cleans the bowling ball. If it is polished it leaves it polished and vice versa for dull.

I actually use the degree dull and then degree 2000 grit polish every 6 games. Provides excellent coverage!

Scott, my BW and ANGULAR ONE are drilled exactly the same except for the BW having a balance hole.

I feel that the BW can handle a tad more oil in it's box condition than the ANGULAR ONE.  The only reason is because of the pearl cover on the ANGULAR ONE.  If both were at the same cover grit then I think the ANGULAR ONE would be a little bit stronger.

Both of these balls hook about the same.  They both have very good length built into them.  They just go about the back end differently.  The BW has what I would call a banana arc to it.  While the ANGULAR ONE has the noraml type of back end reaction.

I like the ANGULAR ONE better because it's more controllable for me.  However the BW does have an advantage in one aspect.  The BW with it's banana arc can give you the angle to take out the 10 pin on those conditions that have you caught in between.  I'm sure a lot of you guys know what i'm talking about.

Both are great bowling balls.  I just have better control of the ANGULAR ONE.  If I could get the same kind of control from the BW it would be awesome.

Hope this helps bud.

Scott, I have never tried any of the ONE series balls before this.  So I can't compare those to this ball.

Very good info about cleaning your equipment.  It's very imprtant to clean the balls right after there used.  I also use Ebonites energizer cleaner.  I feel it's one of the best cleaners on the market.  Track also makes some very good cleaners.

Now with the ANGULAR ONE, since it's a pearl; needs to be re-polished after a certain number of games.  So grab a bottle of Ebonites factory finish polish.  This will keep it looking and reacting like new.

Good points Jeff.

Good info. chi.

I hear ya on the arcing ball for carry.  I use a Track Inertia and a LaaneMasters Big Bang when I need more arc to the pocket for carry on heavier mediums.  Arc generally gives me better carry than skid-snap.....but not always.

It's all about matching up for many of us.

I use The One original for an inside shot when the heads go for length and good recovery.  Trying Legends The Buzz to see if it will replace The One.

As far as ball cleaner, I prefer LM/L ball cleaner...ya know the ugly smelling stuff.  Does a great job.  Either Track Clean and Dull or Ebonite Enegergizer great cleaners.

Agree also on cleaning RIGHT after use.
