Hey guys, thanks for all the replies =)
Paul: They're giving out the Xcel and the Pearl Version of the Excel just for entering a Qualifying Squad. There's a sub-tournament called the, "Ebonite Challenge," in which you can qualify by striking in certain frames of any two games that you've bowled. If you qualify, you pay another entry fee and get another ball which is the Game Time. You could win a Toyota Tundra Truck in this sub-tourney. Crazy stuff...
MrBowlingNut: Thanks for the heads up. I'm looking forward to meeting them. Would be cool to meet PBA Resident Pro Dave Wodka as well.
th2765: Thanks for the input! I'm curious to know how the Ebonite Demo day went for you the last time you bowled. Did they watch you bowl and then look at your equipment and suggest a layout? The one-on-one interaction sounds like a grat deal for your money. Was it crowded on the day you went and got your ball drilled?
Yeah, I thought the part about "Practicing on Tournament Conditions," and having the Ebonite Reps help layout your ball was pretty awesome. I don't know how many people have signed up for the event, but when I signed up last thursday, the tournament director and his wife told me that some squads are already sold out.
With so many people bowling the event, how could they obviously find the time to drill everyone's bowling balls? Well, the event is spread out during the week, so hopefully they fill find time to accomodate everyone.
This is my first, "Mega-Buck," type tournament and I should be in for a rude awakening. I'm down for the experience though. Should be fun. I'm interested to see what type of layouts they will come up with after watching me bowl...
