V2 Sanded and Rico drilling
« on: March 16, 2006, 10:07:48 AM »
Since Ebonite discontinued the V2 Sanded, I just ordered 4 of them since it was always 1 of my favorite balls. I was wondering if anyone has drilled one with the Rico drilling on it and how it rolled for them?

With the regional season starting this weekend for us, I'm not going to have the balls in time but I already have the equipment needed for the pattern. I was thinking about the Rico drilling on the V2 sanded for the regional's version of the Shark pattern.

Thoughts?

Yea yea, I know I'm not "supposed" to call it the Rico unless it's on Brunswick balls but I've had good success with it on a Columbia Overdrive and I've layed quite a few balls out for people using RotoGrip, Columbia and of course Brunswick.

Yea I know

Out of all the patterns, the modified shark one is the one that's been giving me the most trouble for some reason. Just haven't been able to get something to hit when it makes the turn. Flat 10's and that's something my ego can't take much more of.

And before you say it Nick, yea I've used Brunswick and have had the same problems

Quite possibly when they released the V2 Power.

Supposively, Ebonite discontinued a mess of balls recently, including all variants of the Xcels, three V2s, and some of the old Time balls. Looks like about the only things left are the Ones, the mid range stuff like the Elements and the re-released Nitro and Puma, and the Big Times.

Maybe a new line showing up here soon?

Buddies has the Puma listed as being discontinued also. It was a hard choice picking between the Puma and the Crossfire to replace another Columbia ball that cracked of mine. That makes 3 columbia balls that have cracked in the last month and before anyone says something about bringing them in from the cold, the 3 that have cracked haven't left my Den where I keep all my equipment.
