Title: Anyone using the Mission X?
Post by: CubsFan on October 28, 2011, 10:07:36 AM
I was expecting far more user info on this ball by now.   Any non-staffers rolling it yet?  Wondering if it would be too strong for most THS leagues?

I drilled mine with Pin over the ring finger.  This thing hooks so early it is not usable on a THS for me OOB.  I am planning to put some polish on it and see if that helps.  I do have one guy wiht very little hand use it and he has a 288 and 279 with it in less than a week.  This ball is not for the faint of heart.  It hooks much earlier than the original mission and earlier than the Domination.  I do like the way the ball hits the pocket but I need to get it calmed down a little before is is for anything other than heavy oil sport shots for me.

Bare with me fellas on the techinical stuff and ill give my views, mine is drilled pin just right& under ring finger,cg is kicked right, weight hole is is fairly low. Balldriller said this is to get the ball into a roll sooner because of my ballspeed,18-20 mph. I've used it twice in league at a house that is known 4 a lot of oil,741 & 760. Are the results so far. Mine does not start up too soon even with the pin down, I will say this it does not stop once it starts left. 2 guys on my Friday team using taboos were complaining about carrydown around the 3rd frame of 2nd game, the x just kept plowing through. Love this ball, love the whole line.

Thanks for the feedback.  I ended up buying one a couple days after my original post, had it punched up the same day.  Sorta wish I had waited.  Mine also turns way to soon on the THS I play on.  Gonna try some polish.  Hits like a "Mack Truck" (sorry, had to say it) however.

it does hit hard even with single pin leaves,(numerous for me),it hits so hard you dont believe you left anything standing.

Because the cover is so strong, I drilled mine with a weaker pin to MB position.  Thus later mid land roll and more continuous on backend.  With correct surface for one's game this ball is a monster

Mine rolls fantastic.  Little earlier than the original mission, but very continuous.  Great when they are a little wet dry.  Never misses the breakpoint when I leave it in the oil too long.

Mine is beastly and I really can't use it on a THS.  I have it drilled 45 x 4 x 45 and my PAP is 5 1/2 over by 1 1/4 up so this wound up putting the pin above my ring finger and kicked out slightly.

I have no complaints about the ball, it hits like a truck and corners unbelievably.  I broke it out on the Tokyo pattern and one of the other 43 ft heavy patterns and it was easily the strongest ball in my bag.  It surprised me because I expected my pin under Marvel to be stronger but the pin over Mission X gave me 2 - 3 boards more back and but read the lane at the same spot as the Marvel.

If you don't bowl in a house with some moderate-heavy volumes, you may want to get something with a tamer coverstock.
