Gamebreaker Drilling Help
« on: February 21, 2009, 01:02:34 PM »
Any suggestions on a layout for a Gamebreaker, 2 to 3 inch pin, 3.5 top weight. I would like to play down and in after the shot begins to break down. PAP 6 over 3/4 up, ball speed 14 - 16 Quibica. High track medium rev rate tweener.

Thanks

Don't be afraid to drill it strong, the ball just isn't aggressive.  It's a great ball just veeeery medium.  Make sure your pap is 6 over, that's pretty extreme, almost full-roller-ish.
Anyways, back to your original question, how do I drill this bad boy?  Do you want a skid-flipper or a rolly piece?  Do you want to to fit in the middle of two others? specific condition? Or just an all around benchmark ball?

I track less than an inch from my thumbhole and about an inch from my middle finger. Does that sound about right?

I am looking for something to play third after my Cell and Gravity Shift. Need it to get through the drier heads easy, store energy to kick our ten pin in the third game.

I was afraid the cover may be too strong,so I hesitated to drill it as I have too many strong balls, Cell, Uprising, Gravity Shift, just to mention a few.
Thanks for your input.

I personally think the ball will be too strong for what you are looking for.  I'd think, at least in ebonite's line, you'd be better off with a pearl one

The Gamebreaker is too strong for what you want! It actually is a very good oil ball!

It is a good ball but too heavy to work for what your looking to do.  It is pretty close in boards to the Gravity Shift.  Your only option might be to drill is weak or heavy polish.

I thought it was too strong. I picked up a t road pearl. I think I will plug it and redrill it.

Thanks for your input.

Exactly what my teammate does. He has to polish it every week and by the 3rd game the Gamebreaker is still crossing over.

Yea, but I am convinced that it is better to use the ball within the range intended for.  Just thought I might be able to get by with an above the bridge weak drilling. Seems like the consensus is that I would be better off finding a different ball. So, I guess I'll plug the t road pearl or pull out the black widow pearl and freshen up the cover.

i track close to that too, my pap is 5 1/8" over, depending on hand position it will raise up as far as 1/8". it's prob close to that.

This should fit in. what surfaces are you using on the cell and GShift?

it's definitly stronger than say...a tropical or jazz.  but with a pinch of shine its a skater for sure!

don't pass up the GB, its a great peice.  gimme some stats about that cell and GShift, pin to pap, mb placements and surfce, and where you would like the GB to fit.
