Title: Ball for longer sport patterns
Post by: uwecbowler on April 15, 2007, 03:23:55 AM
Hey everyone~

I'm looking for a ball for the longer sport patterns with out of bounds outside 5 that I have been running into lately, and been having a big problem with. My Artillery and Equation are not enough ball and the MM seems to burn up in the oil.

I'm looking for a ball that I can play inside with and still have enough pop on the backend to carry. I can get to the hole with all of my balls, but no matter where I move I can not carry decent.

I throw about 15-18 mph, depending on the condition and like to play 15 out to 10 but I can play anywhere on the lane. I would consider myself a stroker/cranker, but more towards stroker.

Any suggestions???

First of all...you might tweek the surface of the Mean Machine...take it to two thousand perhaps. That might work. I'm a bit surprised that it isn't working for you as is. Great ball.

As for a new bowling ball.....

The Angular One might work. I had good success with it on a sport pattern.

Even though this is the Ebonite forum, I might suggest the Roto Grip Epic Odyssey, either OOB or taken to 2000 abralon. Or, the Roto Grip Mystic...for a polished surface it is suprisingly powerful.

Hard to pick a ball for you...

Probably would help us, if:
1. You had a profile.
2. Let us know how much your ball tilt, rotation is.
3. How are your current balls are drilled.
4. What ratio is the pattern: 2:1, 2.5:1, 3:1.
5. How many units of oil are being used.
6. Post your lane graph or tape.

You can see where I'm coming from...

If the MM still burns up try some polish on top of that. When i polished mine it out hooked my equation on the backend.
