Ball question
« on: December 07, 2003, 04:51:47 AM »
Hello all,

I am getting a new ball and have decided on eather the Tornado Warning Solid or the Tornado TPS.  Now my question is which one is more like a 13lb V2 Strong, the Warning have a closer core to a 13lb V2 Strong, or the TPS with a closet cover, in reaction that is?  I will be getting a 15lb and understand that throwing a 13 compaired to a 15 there is a reaction but not that much.  I have medium to high speed and revs.  Y'all have a good one.

Angstfilled,

I thought anything under 14 lb did not have the weight block, and they were just pancake, or is that 12 lb or lower?  If it is 13lb and lower (that don't have weight blocks) then the one that I threw only had a pancake weight block.  That being said (if what I thew did not have a weight block) then I am trying to find a ball with that reaction.  If it is not like that then what you are saying is right and I have no chance to get that reaction with a Tornado.

Ebonite manufacturers its light weight balls with dynamic cores.  In the V2  line, Savages, Predators, and Stingers, the inside core in weights below 14 lbs is the Nitro R2 shape (similar to the V2 core, but higher RG).  The Tornados actually have the same offset puck as the heavier weights and are quite strong as well.  Only the Tornado Warnings have pancakes in the lightweights.  But they have pancakes in the heavier weights as well.  We are o ne of the few manufacturers that uses dynamic cores in the lightweights of our products.
