Title: Best all around Ebonite?
Post by: splendorlex on May 03, 2005, 03:32:16 AM
I really like my Ebonite Vortex that I've been throwing, but it doesn't seem to have enough hook for me anymore.  I'm looking for an ebonite that can be used in a variety of conditions, from light to med-heavy oil.  Any ideas?

The Big Time is a great ball for stronger conditions and the Rg and differential numbers are similar.

V2 Sanded...

polish for lighter mediums, sand for heavier mediums...

Like someone said...punch 3 (or 4) holes in it, weigh out to be legal...throw ball, strike, repeat

Well, if you're throwing the older Vortex, then moving to the (Vortex) V2 Sanded is excellent. It's stayed on the market for years because it's versatile. If the V2 is what you have, then go to a Big Time.

Ok, I went to throw a few games today and talk to my pro/instructor.  I found out that the Vortex isn't doing it any more because the ball has just plain worn out, it's dead.  I pulled out my Sling Blade which I hadn't used for some time and it filled the role my Vortex has been in just fine.  So instead of versatility I think I will be looking for a really aggressive ball for the heavy stuff.  My pro recommended the Big Deal or the Big Time, so that's probably the direction I will go, I'm just not sure which yet.  Thanks for the thoughts!

You will not be disappointed in a Big Time.

I promise!

I think every one should own at least 2 V2 Sanded's.

They have been the most versitle ball on the market for the last 4 years.

$40.00 shipped is a steal even if it is in bad shape.

You can resurface it and it will be back to normal.
