Best skid flip ball for THS
« on: August 15, 2003, 08:32:24 AM »
I'm bowling on a first shift league. this year  .

8 to 1 ratio is the only thing I know. 8 units on the outside.  oils length seams long.

My sling blade skates a little too much.

I think I like arcing balls but all my scores have been higher with skid/snap reactions. so incase I dump skill for score I would like to pick up a medium oil skid/snap ball.

what ball and layout would be good for a house shot?

TIA.

IF the backend is clean you probaly wont need alot of flip.  A hard arc would be more controllable.  Like a polished V2 Solid.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to a ebonite sponsored clinic from PBI inc. I will get a 50 dollar. credit towards an ebonite ball. most of my stuff is ARC. 2 turbo diesels.

I was just looking for a different reaction incase my accuracy is not there. I can play deep and bounce it of the dry. some nights my knees hurt and I can keep my hips open so I can not really get deep and swing an arcing ball. not enough leverage. so I'm thinking I could pick up the speed and give my self some area on the lane that my arcing ball don't really have.

I've got no experience with it but everyone I have talked to loves the savage flip and boy does it flip.

The Savage or savage flip should be fine. Talk to Don Moyer at PBI about drill patterns and stuff. Good luck

Thanks,

I talked to Don and Kim Terrell Sunday at a training Seminar. Great people. they gave me a few choices and some other ideas.

NO secrets. Just to many choices depending on what I want. see current arsenal in profile.

On one hand I was looking at the majority or shots from light to med/heavy. I could cover these with 4 balls 2 arcing and 2 more skid/snap. The savage line was suggested.

one the other hand I could just get a bigger backend ball overall and the V2 line was suggested.

also the TPC line.Shooter xl for skid snap.

Then just looking at coverstocks I don't have a solid particle.

SO I'm looking at the V2 strong,TPC player,Predator Pursuit for heavy oil and bigger backends.

After my lessons I have decided to wait until I have mastered what they have taught me and see how my ball reaction are and what do I really need.

I like the arcing ball path( urethane days) but I have scored a lot higher with skid flip balls.

given all that, I have a $50 cerificate for an ebonite ball and I'm a compulsive ball shopper. who know's what I will wind up with.
