DEMO DAY
« on: August 10, 2003, 12:40:54 AM »
I WENT TO A EBONITE DEMO DAY IN DES MOINES, IOWA.IT WAS AT PLAZA LANES. THE DATES WERE AUG 9-10. IT WAS FUN TO THROW THE LATEST BOWLING BALLS THAT EBONITE HAVE OUT. THE BOWLING BALLS I HAVE THROW IS V2 STRONG,APEX OBESSION,TPC PLAYER,JUNGLE GREEN AND V2 PARTICLE. I LIKE THE APEX OBESSION AND THE TPC PLAYER. I SHOT 214 WITH TPC PLAYER. THEN A 219 WITH APEX OBESSION.THE V2 PARTICLE 200.THE OTHER SCORES WERE 188 AND 184. I ALSO FORGOT THE PREDATOR PURSUIT. I,M LOOKING FORWARD THE NEXT ONE.
I hate ten pins but love the game of bowling with just the right ball to take them out.

Awhile back hammer had a demo day. At the time hammer came out with the blade and diesel lines. I spend a couple of hours throwing the different balls. The biggest problem I had with the demo day was the shot was way too easy. I couldn't really gauge the differences in ball reaction. No matter where I threw the ball I got a strike. I guess it sold lots of balls this way, but for me it was not any help. What I would've like is to have a pair of lanes that were really oily and another pair dry and another pair with a common house shot. This way you can really compare the different reaction of each ball. Just my opinion.

Gravy, what you saw on Demo Day is what I've seen on Demo Days also.....and yes, it definitely helps sell balls. It is deciving to the person that buys a ball based on the Demo Day performance and then finds that on the average everyday performance, the ball won't work like it did on Demo Day.

I went to an Ebonite Demo Day Last year in October and it was awesome. Kim Terrell was the touring pro there and she was absolutely a doll. I was already in love with her but once I got the opportunity to meet her it was all amplified. Since this was an older one, I had the opportunity to throw the Predator Sparkle, TPC Warrior, Matrix Conquest, Apex Aggression, Apex Adrenaline, and Apex Intensity. I fell in love with everything except the Apex Intensity and the Apex Adrenaline. I have never been an Apex fan but boy lemme tell you, the Apex Agression was nothing but a monster. I am looking to get one to attempt to to place in my aresenal somewhere just because i was that impressed with that ball. Granted that was almost a year ago so that is why the selection was the selection may seem a little outdated. To make a long story short if you have the opportunity to do a "Demo Day" then I suggest to do it.
