Surface on the One
« on: June 02, 2006, 07:07:38 AM »
Hey I am a pro shop owner looking to get a more consistant roll on my one. Right now it is just to unpredictable. Does anyone have a recommendation on what to do to the surface? I have heard to hit it with a burgandy scuff pad then maybe 1200 gloss on top of that.

i would try using abralon pads,  500, 1000, and 2000.
should make the ball stronger in the midlane, and more control on the backend.
we have done that here all season with very good feedback from bowlers.

I didnt like my one at first either, i took it down to 1000 and it was pretty nice there but I use abarlon pad to 2000 and put some black magic polish on it and I like it a lot more now. I get a real good roll from it with some NICE backend turn!!

I have a pin down One that is factory and its amazing for me. But I did have a One that was pin up that went 90'. I hit with 2000 abralon and towel shined it much much better that way for me. I have a big one at 4000 that is pin up with no problems.
We have had a bunch of customers that needed to kncok the shine off it a bit to various degrees. most were knocked down to 1000 abralon then Ebonite factory finish on top of that with great success.

I was going to the same thing with my One this summer, have it sanded to 1000 or 2000 abralon and have it polished with Ebonite Factory Finish or Track Magic Shine. Should I put the polish on it before or after I clean it with the Powerhouse Energizer Cleaner?
