Thought i would popst a quick mini review since i'm sure many of you are curious as to this new release from ebonite:
drilling-pin 5 inches from pap under bridge, mass bias at 60 degrees, weighthole just below axis
pro anvil surface- shot is pretty heavy and had carrydown from open bowlers. I wanted a ball to handle heavier lane conditions but that wouldn't read as early as a lot of my other heavy oil stuff does.
I honestly cannot believe how strong this ball is on the backend. I have thrown a lot of balls over the past 3 years, and can tell you that this thing has more backend than any ball I have seen. I cannot believe that this ball was handling oil and carrydown and still snapping back so hard. I literally had infinite room to miss right, no matter how far right i threw it, it would come back. The problem with this was if i pulled it at all, the ball had no hold. Straight through the nose if i got even a touch soft or pulled it even in the slightest amount. Great continuation through the pin deck, finishing in the 8 pin spot very often even on this heavy oil pattern.
I threw this side by side my diesel, ultimate inferno, diablo, and fired up. It really reminded me of the fired up on steroids, allowing me to play way in of where i am used to playing at this house. It was stronger than every ball on the backend by a good margin, and I would bet that if the surface was the same as my diesel and ultimate inferno, it would handle oil just as well if not better than either of those balls (i still like keeping those balls specifically for either floods or carrydown, respectively and will keep the big one in a different spot). I'm going to keep the surface as is, because it is filling in a niche very nicely in that all my heavy oil stuff rolled very early, yet this surprisingly seemed to work very well on the heavier stuff and still maintained a very angular ball reaction.
