Big Time= Benchmark Ball?????
« on: July 02, 2005, 05:36:40 AM »
Would the Big Time be a good benchmark ball? Also Does this ball react to different hand positions well?

Thanks

Sure, because apparently they do not like me doing it. I was just trying to keep it in the "Latest Forum Posts" section on the main page. So people coming in see it.

It sepends on what you are bowling on. For longer or heavier conditions...this could and should be your benchmark ball. For med or shorter coonditions, go with the pearl version

Because it's a dull solid particle ball, even though it's a light load, it's not likely to be a true benchmark ball unless you have a lot of ball speed and/or lower revs.

A benchmark ball, in general, is one in which you can go into any house, any tournament and have a likelihood that you can either use it or know immediately, if you need a stronger or weaker ball, a longer or an earlier ball. As such, it is usually a medium oil ball, probably, for most people, a solid resin ball like the V2 Sanded, drilled in very "medium" way, not for early roll, nor for length.

For high speed or low rev players, it may be a ball like the Big Time. For crankers, it may be a pearl resin. For 90% of us it is a V2 Sanded, a Bruiser/Nemesis, Messenger Ti Traction, Slash, Atomic Charge, etc.
