Hi All,

Just wondering. Have any of you owned the Ebonite NVD? Looks like it was released almost 2 years ago in early 2008. I have already read 11 of the reviews in the review section.

My question is, how does this ball stack up to Today's ebonite line (Evolve & Magic Line). I know this ball was supposed to handle a good amount of oil. The question is, in terms of oil handling capability, where would it fit in today's line for Ebonite.

Any comparisons? Any thoughts on ball motion (Arc, Heavy Arc, Snap?) for the NVD in general or with different types of layouts?

Terp, thanks a bunch for your help. I'm def looking for something that would handle more oil than usual even though we all know that most of the time there isn't an oiler that will solve the most flooded of lanes hehe.

I like the characteristics of a Heavy Arc on patterns with more oil volume. Appreciate the insight!

Anyone else throw the NVD?

I've had mine since i've come back from las vegas in February. I've thrown this ball on a few different oil pattern some very heavy oil patterns and this ball still hooks. Even though i've taken it to 1000 grit this ball is still great. I've just bowled a recent sports series event and bowled on the WTBA Athens & WTBA London now Athens is a 40ft medium pattern but flat and London in 44ft Long Pattern and again flat. I still had to dull it to a 1000 i didn't get much ball reaction with my normal speed but after slowing it down 10km's it got the reaction i need. Keep the ball at box finish and you won't have a problem with most heavy oil condition's if there not flat of course.

I've had my NVD for over a year now and it's one heck of a ball. It's a heavy arc ball that revs up early but with alot of hitting power on the backend. I keep mine normally at 2000 dull and at tournaments I go down to 1000 dull in case I come across longer/heavy oil. It's one of those few solid balls that I can play from multiple angles and adjust well with my release. Still rolls very good after a year but haven't used it since September right after I started trying Motiv (and the centers have been putting up lighter oil patterns).

Currently, there's nothing in the Ebonite balls that is in comparison with the NVD but since they are missing a lower RG ball for the heavier stuff I can possibly see one coming in the Evolve line in the future.
